Transcript [00:00] Sometimes one story manages to [00:02] miraculously connect loss and new life. [00:04] Tzvika Heider lost his son, Dor, who [00:06] was murdered in Be'eri on October 7th, [00:08] and an MDA ambulance was donated in his [00:10] memory. At the dedication ceremony, [00:12] Tzvika asked for one thing. I hope this [00:14] ambulance is only used for births. [00:16] Yesterday, the first call came in: a [00:18] woman in labor was on the way to Be'eri [00:20] , and Tzvika and midwife Ayala Barvitz [00:22] went out to meet her, and within [00:24] minutes, inside the ambulance in Dor's [00:26] memory, a baby boy was born. Hello to [00:29] Tzvika Heider. I don’t even know [00:31] where to begin to describe such an [00:32] emotional moment. [00:35] So first of all, a hello and a happy [00:37] holiday to the people of Israel. It [00:39] truly is a [00:40] moving moment. It is a moment that [00:44] I don’t even know how to define, but [00:46] indeed, on Thursday we received a call. [00:49] I received a call, actually, about a [00:51] woman in labor arriving from the [00:53] southern region toward Be'eri, and [00:55] there is an amazing project with the [00:57] organization "Potchot Tzir," where [00:59] midwives in all the communities join [01:01] MDA teams for births. I called Ayala, [01:08] and we headed out from Sderot and met [01:10] the vehicle and the husband, actually, [01:13] near Alumim on Route 232—as we know, [01:15] Route 232 is a "blood road"—and we [01:17] saw a woman in labor standing outside [01:20] the car...in the final minutes, we [01:22] managed to get her into the ambulance [01:25] and all... [01:30] Really, in two or three minutes, a [01:32] charming baby boy was brought into the [01:35] world. We were completely occupied with [01:41] professional care for the mother and, [01:43] of course, the newborn, and all that it [01:45] entailed afterward. It was overwhelming [01:51] , after they were stabilized and the [01:53] ambulance rushed to the hospital for [01:55] further treatment, we finally had a [01:57] moment, both Ayala and I, to catch our [02:00] breath, with so much crying and so much [02:02] joy. [02:04] Can you share what you felt yourself? I [02:07] imagine it’s very overwhelming, of [02:09] course. [02:11] Yes, it’s a mix of a lot of sadness, [02:14] but also so much joy. But as I said, we [02:16] were still in professional mode, so we [02:18] took a moment to calm down from the [02:21] birth, that amazing thing we were [02:22] privileged to experience. [02:25] And that's it, we cried, but... [02:29] I also spoke with the father. [02:32] Wait, you’re getting ahead of [02:33] yourself—we have a surprise for you. [02:35] Oh, really? [02:37] Yes, a video sent to us especially by [02:39] Pnina, the mother from the ambulance. [02:41] Let's watch. [02:44] Dear Tzvika, wow, I have to say thank [02:47] you for being there in that crazy [02:49] moment. You should know that the day [02:55] before, we were debating whether to [02:57] stay in Jerusalem and give birth there. [03:06] One thing led to another, and God [03:08] wanted us to bring life right at this [03:10] moment, right in this place, right in [03:12] this ambulance. [03:16] Yes, Tzvika, right in this ambulance. [03:18] It’s amazing. [03:20] Wow, I have chills! First of all, [03:22] it’s amazing. Thank you for this [03:24] incredible surprise. Yes, we received [03:28] these ambulances through partners in [03:30] saving lives from overseas, both from [03:32] Switzerland and Miami, and we held a [03:34] ceremony here on the eve of Rosh [03:35] Hashanah. I said, I asked that we bring [03:40] the ambulance to Sderot, that we bring [03:42] the ambulances and do something special [03:44] . So that same day we also held a blood [03:46] drive and an happening for the whole [03:48] kibbutz. Kidur was basically a child, a [03:51] child of ours who moved to Be'eri to [03:53] care for children with special needs, [03:55] and he did good, he did good for [03:57] everyone. And while he was wandering [04:00] around here in the kibbutz, indeed. [04:02] He would say hello, and basically. [04:06] I actually had a wish right on the eve [04:08] of Rosh Hashanah, and to my delight, to [04:10] our delight, this wish came true. [04:15] Thank you very much Zvika, we are [04:16] really, really moved and must wrap up, [04:18] but really, may you continue only with [04:20] births and celebrations, just a request [04:23] to everyone, to the people of Israel, [04:24] get up and do a good deed, every single [04:26] one of you, and we will have a better [04:28] place to live in. [04:31] With this message. [04:32] As I always end, the people of Israel [04:34] live. [04:34] We are definitely the people of Israel [04:36] live, we end with this message, thank [04:37] you very much Zvika.
