Transcript [00:00] Dr. Shmuel Katz is joining us now. [00:01] Shalom. [00:02] >> Shalom u'veracha. [00:04] >> So, elections are coming and we are [00:05] seeing efforts from the left to fly [00:07] people over to Israel to vote and top of [00:09] the government. Do you call on Israelis [00:11] living abroad who support the government [00:14] to come to Israel to vote? [00:15] >> Thank you very much for this very [00:17] important question. [00:21] I think that the value of having the [00:25] understanding of the process [00:28] and the results of any decision is [00:30] crucial. Not only the people are going [00:33] to vote for the right, [00:34] but also for those who thinking about [00:37] voting for the left. [00:38] People must understand [00:41] that all these decisions will have [00:44] fundamental effect upon their own [00:47] future. [00:49] Even if you are on the left, you have to [00:51] be very careful who are you voting for. [00:55] You have to understand that the future [00:57] of the Jewish people [00:59] and of the free world depends on [01:02] responsible leadership in the land of [01:05] Israel. [01:06] Now, the people who are in leadership [01:08] position in the land of Israel must [01:11] understand [01:13] that the enemies of Israel will speak to [01:16] you very nicely. They'll smile at you. [01:18] They'll look very modern and [01:21] accommodating, [01:22] but their middle name is deception. [01:25] They'll tell you stories that you would [01:27] like to hear, [01:28] but they uh [01:30] will not act upon whatever they promised [01:33] you. [01:33] We have examples like that throughout [01:36] the world that if you have evil people [01:38] who get into a decision-making position, [01:41] the end result will be [01:44] that once they get into the position of [01:47] making decisions, they will work against [01:50] you because they have their own agenda. [01:52] They want to develop a certain [01:55] future which will not be to your [01:58] benefit. For instance, in the United [02:00] States is a big fight between the right [02:03] and the left. [02:04] And the left is telling you openly and [02:06] clearly [02:08] they want a country without borders. [02:11] They want an open [02:13] access to all the wealth of the world [02:15] without any responsibility. [02:18] They will provide people with all kinds [02:20] of benefits which we don't they don't [02:22] even know how to pay for them. Their [02:24] claim is we'll take the money away from [02:26] the rich and will give it to everybody [02:28] else. [02:29] But at the end of the day, once they run [02:31] out of the money of the rich, [02:34] they will not have anything. And the [02:36] rich will not have the incentive to [02:37] invest and to work hard to be [02:39] successful. [02:41] So, all the people who want to vote, [02:43] should they be on the right, should be [02:45] on the left, should they look very [02:47] carefully about the leadership and not [02:50] only what they promise to you, tell uh [02:52] what are the things that they may do [02:54] once they come into office. [02:57] And therefore I say, any person who [02:59] wants to go and vote [03:01] should go and vote, but he should vote [03:04] wisely with a big understanding of whom [03:07] they are voting for. If they want [03:09] stability, [03:10] if they want a better future [03:13] for their own families and for own [03:15] communities, this is the way that they [03:17] have to act. [03:18] >> Dr. Katz, some people remain undecided [03:21] as to who to vote for. Some people claim [03:23] that it was under the watch of the most [03:25] right-wing government that the disaster [03:27] of October 7th occurred. And they ask, [03:29] "How can we reelect this government [03:32] after such a tragic error?" [03:34] >> I am very much concerned about that [03:36] piece of information, especially when I [03:39] know the context of these messages. [03:42] What's happening in Israel now, and it [03:45] did happen very much also in the past, [03:49] that people had a certain agenda. The [03:51] people, for instance on the left wanted [03:54] to gain power. They wanted to remove [03:56] Netanyahu from office. [03:58] And it becomes very strange to me as I [04:02] know the Israeli military and the [04:03] Israeli political system. [04:06] How come [04:08] Israel did not have information about [04:11] the uprising of the radical Palestinian [04:14] movement in Gaza [04:16] and the plan of attacking Israel? And [04:19] even once they attacked Israel, how come [04:21] it took them so long to respond to this [04:24] event? [04:26] The information that you're getting [04:28] today [04:30] some of them are speaking about [04:31] conspiracies and so on, which I don't [04:34] even know if it's true or not. [04:36] But it makes a lot of sense when you [04:38] look into that. A real investigation [04:40] must be done in order to find the real [04:43] details. [04:45] Leadership of the Israeli military who [04:47] were left-leaning were absent in action. [04:50] They were not there. [04:52] Netanyahu did not receive the [04:54] information in real time [04:56] and acted upon them because he just did [04:58] not have the information. [05:00] So accusing Netanyahu for not acting [05:03] upon information that he did not have, [05:06] it's a very difficult decision to [05:08] address. [05:10] The Israeli military leadership when [05:12] they went on vacation the night before [05:15] the invasion of uh [05:18] Hamas into the state of Israel, doesn't [05:20] make a lot of sense. [05:22] When people are getting the messages [05:25] that maybe [05:27] the Israeli left wanted one of the [05:29] villages to be run over by the [05:31] terrorists and then they can blame [05:33] Netanyahu for whatever happened, [05:36] it's going to be a great move. This way [05:38] they'll be able to remove him from [05:40] office. [05:41] But the problem was that even the [05:43] Israeli left did not know what was [05:45] happening on the border and Hamas and [05:48] Sinwar and all their crazy leadership [05:51] decided to go all in to attack Israel [05:55] from multiple locations, more than 20 [05:57] locations at the same time [06:00] which caused a lot of trouble to the [06:02] Israelis with 1200 dead and more than [06:05] 250 [06:07] people who were kidnapped [06:09] which means at this time we understand [06:12] that the enemies of Israel do not care [06:15] if you are on the right of or if you are [06:17] on the left. [06:18] The left wanted to appease them and give [06:20] them everything whatever they wanted and [06:22] the result was that these all these [06:25] terror supporting organization and [06:27] groups [06:28] got emboldened by this move. They [06:30] thought Israel is a motion and we can do [06:32] anything whatever you want with it. [06:35] The Israeli right is trying to [06:37] enforce some kind of stability and [06:40] security [06:42] to the state of Israel that will [06:45] recognize the fact that they're being [06:46] deceived by all kinds of people who are [06:49] talking about peace [06:51] but at the end of the day they want to [06:52] kill you and they don't care if you are [06:54] on the right, they don't care if you are [06:55] on the left, they want to dominate you. [06:58] So the sooner that we understand that [07:00] the enemies of Israel don't care if you [07:02] are on the left and you don't care about [07:05] if you are on the right, they want you [07:06] to be weak and if you are weak, you lose [07:10] and the Israeli left unfortunately is [07:12] want to give in to all the demands of [07:15] the radical Muslims, the radical [07:18] leftists [07:19] which at the end of the day will [07:21] undermine the stability of the state of [07:23] Israel. [07:24] The Israeli right parties do not want [07:27] that. They want stability. They want to [07:29] make sure that we are living in our [07:31] ancestral homeland safely and securely [07:34] together with all others who are living [07:36] in this neighborhood. Should they be [07:38] Muslims, Christians or Jews? [07:40] And it's going to be to the benefit of [07:42] all if we understand in which [07:45] neighborhood we are living and who are [07:47] the people who are dealing with. And [07:49] therefore the Israeli right seems to be [07:52] the one that is looking into a better [07:54] future for the Jewish people in the land [07:56] of Israel [07:57] and to everybody else who living in that [08:00] area without giving in to all kinds of [08:03] manipulative moves by the Israeli [08:07] radical left and by the radical Muslims [08:10] in the neighborhood who wants only the [08:11] destruction of the state of Israel. [08:13] >> Many new parties are appearing on the [08:15] right. There's tremendous concern that [08:17] if these parties don't pass the minimum [08:19] threshold that was required to enter the [08:21] Knesset, which is approximately four [08:23] Knesset seats, then tens of thousands of [08:26] votes might go to waste. What is your [08:28] message to voters in wake of this? [08:31] >> I think this is a crucial question which [08:33] should demonstrate that it's validity [08:35] already in the past in many levels. [08:38] For instance, in Turkey, Erdogan managed [08:41] to come into power because all the [08:44] opposition parties and those who stood [08:47] against him were fragmented and they [08:49] could not put together a coalition of [08:53] people who can stand against radical [08:55] Islam and today we have a Turkey [08:58] who is trying to destroy the state of [09:00] Israel, try to take over domination of [09:03] the Middle East especially as Iran is [09:06] weakened. [09:07] So the problem is if now in Israel with [09:09] the elections is twofold. Number one, [09:12] the small parties must unite. If they [09:16] don't unite, they're going to lose. [09:18] Losing today to radical left, radical [09:21] Islamic organizations and movements is [09:25] going to be to the detriment of the [09:26] country. [09:27] At the same time, if you go and vote, [09:29] you have to vote for somebody who is a [09:31] proven [09:33] track record of trying to do the best he [09:35] can based on the circumstances that he [09:38] is living in. [09:40] And therefore, it is important on one [09:42] side to pick only a party which has a [09:44] chance to survive. [09:47] And at the same time, we have to take [09:49] all the people with the small fragmented [09:51] groups who trying to build in their own [09:53] parties to build bridges among [09:56] themselves in order to secure the fact [09:58] that they should be able also a party [10:00] that can survive. And then the people in [10:03] Israel will have a better choice to [10:05] choose the right party of those who want [10:09] to make the state of Israel stable, [10:11] strong, and beneficiary to all those who [10:14] are living in Israel and across the [10:16] globe. I think that this is a very, very [10:19] important decision that the citizen will [10:21] have to take. If you cannot vote for a [10:23] party which will survive [10:26] the election, you better choose a [10:29] different party which will be as close [10:31] to your idea as possible. [10:33] Do not vote for a party that's going to [10:35] be wasting your voice. [10:37] You know, having a voice which is going [10:40] to being lost [10:42] is as if you vote for the wrong party. [10:46] So, you think you vote for the right [10:47] party, but you vote for the wrong party. [10:50] And therefore, I highly recommend for [10:52] all the little parties to unite, [10:55] take away this factor of egos and [10:57] personal ideas, [11:00] and try to build bridges in order to [11:02] create a unity among the people who [11:05] going to represent us tomorrow in the [11:07] Knesset because the survival of the [11:09] country depends on a solid and unified [11:14] voice within the Israeli government. [11:17] >> Okay, Dr. Shmuel Katz, thank you very [11:18] much for joining us. [11:19] >> Thank you so much, and may [11:22] the best person win. And the best person [11:25] will be those who want to have a secure [11:28] state of Israel, stand up wisely against [11:31] the enemies of Israel and build a better [11:34] future for everybody.
