I debated a man about the age of Aisha, the Prophet Muhammad's wife. Within the same conversation, he told me she was 19, then 12, then admitted that nine was probably right but that "back then it was fine." I quoted Sahih Bukhari directly: Aisha narrates that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and consummated the marriage when she was nine. His response was to keep shifting the number. Then I made the argument he couldn't answer. You pray five times a day. That requirement does not come from the Quran it comes from Hadith. The same Hadith chain. The same transmission process. The same scholars. If Sahih Bukhari is reliable enough to tell you how to pray, it is reliable enough to tell you how old Aisha was. You do not get to accept the parts that are convenient and reject the parts that are not.
