[00:03] >> First of all, please a few words about [00:05] these days of summer and holidays in [00:07] Budapest. Many Israelis visiting the [00:10] country. [00:10] >> Well, it's really nice to be able to [00:12] walk in the street and hear Hebrew. [00:15] Everywhere you go, in the malls, they [00:17] are in the shops, in the restaurant, I [00:18] can hear friends from Israel, but also I [00:22] can see tourists from other places in [00:24] the world. So, it means that Budapest is [00:27] a great destination, but because it's a [00:28] beautiful city, but also because it's [00:30] very safe. [00:31] >> You say safe. How do you explain the [00:33] situation, especially in wake of what we [00:35] are seeing throughout Europe, throughout [00:37] the world? [00:38] >> I think that this is the first thing is [00:40] the commitment of the Hungarian [00:42] government to the zero tolerance policy. [00:46] They don't want to see the Jews in [00:48] ghettos. [00:49] They want to see the Jews living in the [00:52] city safely. They want to see the [00:53] tourists in the city being able to dress [00:56] the way they want, to eat whatever they [00:57] want, to have access to synagogues, to [00:59] restaurants, to facilities they need, [01:02] and they are very committed for that. [01:03] >> And regarding the pro-Palestinian [01:05] activities and protests, there aren't [01:07] many, but what there is is concerning. [01:10] >> Yeah, we don't like it, of course, [01:12] especially now when it supports [01:14] terrorism. The last demonstration here [01:16] supported the Dr. [01:18] Abu Safia, which is a colonel in Hamas [01:21] that run [01:22] a hospital, but he run it as a terrorist [01:25] base. So, we don't like this [01:26] demonstration. We are very glad to see [01:28] that the Hungarian public is not falling [01:30] for his lies, and in the end of the days [01:32] there is like 30 or 40 people in in his [01:35] demonstration, while there is hundreds [01:37] that support the Israeli cause. And I [01:40] hope that if we won't give him too much [01:42] attention, he will disappear. [01:44] >> That's on the left side. In terms of the [01:45] right, you are seeing a rise in terms of [01:48] the far right, also anti-Semitism, [01:50] especially online. [01:51] >> So, [01:52] we see that this is a gap that was [01:54] created because the fall of Fidesz. We [01:57] see a rise in the Mi Hazánk party, which [02:00] is the far-right party and they have [02:04] anti-Semitic rhetoric that we don't we [02:06] don't like. And it's not only that we [02:08] don't like it, we operate together with [02:10] the government to see what's the best [02:12] possible solution for that and it comes [02:14] from education and what content will be [02:17] in the education system, but also law [02:19] enforcement, intelligence and it's [02:21] definitely not something that we are [02:23] quiet about. [02:24] >> You mentioned the new government. Orbán [02:26] was of course considered a very close [02:28] friend of Israel. Is the new government [02:30] also a good friend? [02:31] >> Of course, I think we saw on the second [02:34] day of the prime minister after the [02:35] election, he was [02:37] present in the Holocaust memorial [02:40] service. He came there with his deputy [02:42] minister and foreign minister. That [02:44] shows the commitment of the local [02:46] government for for the Jews, for Israel. [02:49] He also stated that that the relations [02:51] with Israel are strategic relations and [02:54] we are [02:55] fully aware [02:57] of the intentions of the new government [02:59] to build these relations on concrete [03:01] economic cooperation, tourism [03:04] cooperation and we look forward for [03:05] that.
