Transcript [00:00] Okay, this is a really interesting [00:02] story. Um, and it's, I guess, still [00:05] developing. There's still headlines [00:06] about it. The plot is thickening here. [00:09] Here's the deal. Apparently, Prime [00:11] Minister Netanyahu flew to the UAE for [00:15] what was initially a secret meeting with [00:18] Muhammad bin Zed, the president, MBZ as [00:20] he's known, the president of the UAE. it [00:22] then came out in public and there's a [00:25] lot of chatter about it and then there's [00:26] the question of who else was present and [00:28] there's different reports and denials [00:31] and it actually has some serious [00:32] political implications [00:34] and uh yeah we're going to get into the [00:36] whole thing. So let's uh let's just get [00:38] right to it. Okay, let's uh let's pull [00:41] up the story because there's a lot of [00:42] headlines to get through on this thing. [00:45] Netanyahu held secret Gulf summit on [00:47] Iran Houthis in UAE sources say and this [00:52] is from Israeli media wet that's yot [00:56] that's one of the major media outlets [00:57] mainstream media outlets in Israel so [00:59] we're going to track in this video it's [01:00] especially important to track what media [01:03] we are reading from Prime Minister [01:04] Benjamin Netanyahu met with [01:06] representatives of Gulf countries that [01:08] do not have diplomatic relations with [01:10] Israel including Saudi Arabia during his [01:13] visit to the United Arab Emirates. [01:15] Sources familiar with the details said [01:17] on Monday. Representatives from Morocco, [01:21] Libya, Jordan, and Qatar also apparently [01:25] attended. The meeting was the meeting [01:27] was arranged by the by Mossad chief [01:30] Roman Goffman following a Saudi request [01:33] for Israeli assistance against Houthi [01:35] attacks in the Red Sea region. UAE [01:38] President Muhammad bin Zed [01:41] agreed to host the talks. The ranks of [01:44] the other count's representatives remain [01:46] unclear. So this is what's being [01:47] reported, right, that Netanyahu flies [01:50] out to the UAE. There's representatives [01:52] of Morocco, Libya, Jordan, Qatar, and [01:55] Saudi Arabia all there for this uh [01:59] secret summit [02:03] and it was arranged by the head of the [02:04] Mossad. [02:06] Okay, that is what is being reported and [02:08] this is a legit media outlet. The talks [02:10] focused on Iran and curbing its proxy in [02:13] the Middle East [02:15] with I guess the Houthis with an [02:17] emphasis on the Houthis. There you go. [02:18] The representatives also heard from the [02:20] Israeli side about Israel's willingness [02:23] to assist countries in the region with [02:26] their air defense systems just as it [02:28] helped the UAE during the war with Iran [02:32] shortly before the Emirati announcement. [02:35] In other words, the Emirates it's it's [02:37] making it's making the point here that [02:39] the Emirates ad uh admitted that the [02:42] meeting actually took place. Okay. Um [02:45] short and that and that's part of the [02:47] story as we'll get to in a moment. [02:48] Shortly before the Emirati announcement, [02:50] the prime minister's office issued a [02:51] statement confirming Netanyahu's visit [02:53] to the Gulf State. For the first time, [02:55] the office published a list of those who [02:57] took part in the visit. In addition to [03:00] Netanyahu and his wife Sarah, the [03:03] delegation included the Mossad chief, [03:05] the head of the National Security [03:07] Council, military secretary Major [03:10] General Guy Marisano, the head of the [03:12] Shinbett security division, the flight [03:15] crew, and the security team. Okay, so we [03:18] have the Mossad chief, [03:20] we have the head of the National [03:21] Security Council, the military [03:24] secretaries. that the military secretary [03:25] is a position in the prime minister's [03:27] office who's kind of the liaison and [03:30] adviser on military affairs to the prime [03:32] minister. So he's there and the head of [03:34] the shinbet security system. Okay, the [03:36] shinbet is like the FBI so to speak in [03:38] Israel kind of like the internal Mossad. [03:41] Okay, so we have the we have the head of [03:44] the Mossad and the other and the [03:45] Shinbet, the two major intelligence [03:47] agencies in Israel. We have the head of [03:49] the National Security Council and uh and [03:53] the military secretary. So it's [03:55] obviously related to defense and [03:56] security issues. In an unusual [03:59] unprecedented move, the statement also [04:01] quoted the Shinbet and Mossad headed by [04:03] David Zinny and Roman Gooffman [04:05] respectively both appointed by Netanyahu [04:07] sharply criticizing an Israeli media [04:09] outlet. In other words, here's what [04:11] happened. I should have included this. [04:14] There was one of the Israeli major media [04:16] outlets reported this visit [04:19] and apparently they had violated the [04:22] censor like there when there are [04:24] sensitive national security issues [04:26] relating to a news story. They they [04:29] censor what can be said publicly if it [04:31] if it compromises national security. And [04:34] here apparently what happened was that [04:35] channel 12 again they are like major [04:38] news in Israel. They're kind of like the [04:39] equivalent of, I don't know, MSNBC or [04:42] CNN in America. They reported that [04:46] Nathaniel was on his way to this meeting [04:47] in the UAE. He had not yet landed [04:52] and this was a huge security breach and [04:56] that's a big scandal going on in Israel. [04:57] We're going to get into that in a [04:58] minute. But before we get into that, [05:00] let's just talk about the fact that the [05:02] UAE confirmed that Netanyahu visited. [05:04] Why does that actually matter? We'll [05:06] take a look. UAE President Sheikh [05:08] Muhammad bin Zed discussed bilateral [05:11] relations during a visit on Sunday by [05:13] Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to the [05:15] Gulf country. The Emirati state news [05:18] agency reported on Monday. This report [05:20] was the first UAE confirmation of [05:22] Netanyahu's visit. So let's understand [05:24] something from the outset. Neither the [05:27] Israelis nor the Emiratis said in [05:29] advance that this meeting was happening. [05:31] In other words, this is not a normal [05:33] state visit. Why did Sarah Netanyahu [05:37] the wife of the prime minister go with [05:38] him on this? I have no idea. But this is [05:41] obviously not a normal state visit. This [05:43] visit was not announced publicly [05:46] by either government, by the UAE or by [05:49] Israel. It was only announced publicly [05:52] after the fact after it was reported by [05:55] Channel 12 in Israel. Let's keep going. [05:57] Senior Israeli officials told Reuters [05:59] that the meeting on Sunday lasted six [06:01] hours and focused on Iran. Earlier this [06:05] year, the UAE denied that Shik Muhammad [06:09] had met with Netanyahu, that MBZ had met [06:11] with him after the Israeli prime [06:13] minister's office said in May that [06:14] Netanyahu had secretly visited the Gulf [06:16] country and met with the president. [06:18] Okay, so there was a similar incident [06:20] back in May. Netanyahu fly said that he [06:23] flew over or it was said that he had [06:24] flown over to the UAE for a quick [06:26] meeting and at that time the UAE denied [06:29] it. This time they said that the meeting [06:32] took place. Since coming under attack [06:34] during the Iran War, the UEE has [06:36] strengthened its relationships with the [06:37] United States and Israel, with which it [06:39] opened ties as a result of the 2020 [06:42] Abraham Accords. The relationship with [06:43] Israel gives the UAE a lever for [06:45] regional influence, provision of [06:47] humanitarian assistance in Gaza, and a [06:49] unique channel to Washington. Now, this [06:51] is from the Arab Weekly. The Arab Weekly [06:52] is a generally pro- UAE, pro-Western [06:56] media outlet, although it's not a UAE [06:58] media outlet. It's published out of [07:00] London and it's basically independent [07:03] and it's pretty it's pretty factual [07:05] meaning it's not actually state media of [07:06] anybody. So it's an Arab media outlet [07:08] that tends towards being sort of [07:10] pro-western and pro- UAE. Let's keep [07:13] that in mind. Okay, here we go now to [07:16] Israeli media here. This is Jerusalem [07:17] Post Prime Minister's Office. Shinbet [07:20] files complaint to IDF sensor after [07:23] channel 12 report endangered Netanyahu's [07:25] life. The Shinbet demanded, and this is [07:28] from today, demanded that legal action [07:31] be taken against channel 12 over its [07:33] reporting of Prime Minister Netanyahu's [07:35] visit to the UAE in a complaint filed [07:37] with the chief military sensor on [07:38] Monday. According to late to a late [07:41] Monday night statement issued by the [07:42] Prime Minister's office, the Shinbet [07:44] considered the report a serious [07:46] censorship violation. The Shinbet said [07:48] that the timing of the report, which [07:50] came out at 9:38 p.m., endangered the [07:53] security of the prime minister, the [07:54] operation, and the forces on the ground [07:56] as the prime minister's aircraft was [07:58] still well outside of Israel's borders. [08:00] The plane landed about an hour later. [08:03] The Shinbet added the report exposed [08:05] exposed methods of the operation which [08:07] placed future operations at a [08:08] significantly higher level of risk. [08:11] >> [snorts] [08:11] >> Additionally, a Mossad assessment found [08:13] that the leak constituted a serious [08:15] security threat to the security of the [08:17] prime minister and the delegation. The [08:18] Mossad requested that the publication be [08:20] marked as a serious incident [08:22] constituting damage to the security of [08:24] the state of Israel. In other words, [08:25] they did not want this visit to be made [08:27] public. That's pretty clear. If they [08:29] did, they would have announced it in [08:30] advance. It seems that it was leaked. [08:34] came out that he that he flew out there [08:36] to have this meeting and then after the [08:38] fact they said we might as well go with [08:39] it and say that the meeting happened. [08:41] This time the UAE said publicly that the [08:43] meeting happened. [08:44] Um let's see Prime Minister Netanyahu's [08:46] official statement. Here we go on his ex [08:48] account. Prime Minister's office in [08:50] response to the AP report. [08:53] I'm sorry. Let me start with this one. [08:55] Here's his official acknowledgement of [08:56] the meeting. The prime minister's [08:57] office. Prime Minister Benjamin [08:58] Netanyao. [09:03] Sorry, I had to cough. And his wife [09:04] visited the United Arab Emirates [09:06] yesterday at the invitation of the UAE [09:08] president MBZ. [09:10] The visit focused on strengthening [09:11] relations between the two countries and [09:13] on regional challenges. Very vague. It [09:17] just sounds like a diplomatic visit. But [09:18] what's so what's so not plausible about [09:20] that is that this visit came out of the [09:23] blue. There was no announcement of it by [09:25] either side. It was obviously uh not [09:27] meant to be public. And this this is a [09:29] head of state, Prime Minister Netanyahu [09:30] flying out to meet the head of state of [09:32] UAE. And there's no announcement of [09:34] this. It's not an official state visit [09:35] in any way. And they're just going to [09:37] discuss [09:39] strengthening relations between the two [09:41] countries and regional challenges. The [09:43] prime minister was accompanied by the [09:44] head of now here this is interesting. He [09:46] says who was with him? By the head of [09:48] the National Security Council, the head [09:50] of the Mossad and the military secretary [09:52] foreign and the foreign policy adviser. [09:53] It doesn't mention the head of the [09:54] Shinbet who was also there. And then [09:58] what happened was the the AP [10:00] came out with this story. You see, [10:02] there's a different story going on that [10:03] there's this claim that was made by [10:05] Hare, which is like although it's an [10:07] Israeli newspaper, it's an anti-Israel [10:08] newspaper. They spread all kinds of [10:10] liels about Israel all the time. [10:13] And they're at war with Netanyahu. They [10:15] want to unseat him. They're like they [10:17] they're it's a very left-wing paper, [10:19] very very pro Palestinian basically. and [10:24] even though they're an old newspaper, so [10:26] people think of them as a legitimate [10:28] news outlet, in Israel, they're mostly [10:29] viewed as an extreme left publication [10:31] that represents a teeny tiny percentage [10:34] of the population. In any event, Harets [10:37] has been has been promoting this story [10:39] that MBZ had called Netanyahu before [10:43] October 7th to warn him about the [10:45] attacks and that Netanyahu didn't do [10:47] anything with that information. The UEA [10:49] has uh uh MBZ's office has has has not [10:53] corroborated this story at all. [10:55] Netanyahu says it's fake and it's false [10:58] and he wants to sue them for liel. [11:00] Anyway, the so the AP the Associated [11:02] Press reported that this was the reason [11:05] that Netanyahu went out there was to ask [11:07] MBZ to deny that story and the prime [11:10] minister's office published a a deni a [11:14] uh [11:16] a a reputation of that. basically saying [11:19] that it's fake news that the visits f [11:21] focused solely on strengthening [11:22] relations between the two countries and [11:24] addressing regional challenges. Now [11:26] that's not the most interesting part of [11:27] this. The most interesting part is who [11:29] else was there and I mentioned this in [11:31] the when the first story I read it [11:32] mentioned some other countries. Now [11:33] let's drill down further into that. So [11:36] the first story I read you was from WET. [11:38] That's an Israeli news outlet. And in [11:40] the wet story, it said besides naming [11:43] these all these security uh senior [11:46] security people there, it said that Isra [11:50] that present at the talks were [11:52] representatives of Saudi Arabia, [11:54] Morocco, Libya, Jordan, and Qatar. [11:57] Okay. So how is that news being being [12:00] received in Arab media? So this is [12:03] Middle East eye. This is a not a [12:07] pro-Israel publication. It focuses on [12:09] the Middle East. It's pro, it's always [12:10] pro the anti-Israel side. But take a [12:13] look at what they write here. Israeli [12:15] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's [12:16] office confirmed that he and his wife [12:18] Sarah traveled to the UAE on Sunday at [12:20] the invitation of MBZ. Quote, the [12:22] biggest the visit focused on [12:24] strengthening relations between the two [12:25] countries on regional challenges. That [12:27] was the official statement. and says who [12:30] he was accompanied with, head of the [12:31] Mossad, NSR security council, foreign [12:33] policy adviser. Look at this. According [12:36] to Israeli media reports, [12:39] representatives from Saudi Arabia, [12:40] Jordan, Libya, Qatar, and Morocco were [12:42] also present at the meeting. [12:44] Huh. Sure enough, the only media outlets [12:48] that are reporting that these countries [12:50] were present are either Israeli media [12:52] outlets or foreign media outlets citing [12:55] Israeli media. meaning the source is [12:57] only like this one. The source is only [12:59] from Israeli media outlets that they [13:01] were present there. And when we go over [13:03] to the Saudi [13:05] media, now this is not official Saudi [13:07] state media, but it basically is because [13:10] Arab news is owned by a member of the [13:11] Saudi royal family. It basically [13:13] functions as Saudi state media, even [13:15] though there are others. Saudi Arabia [13:18] denies representatives attended U Israel [13:20] UA meeting. This is from today. So [13:23] they're outright denying it. Saudi [13:25] Arabia on Tuesday denied reports that [13:27] representatives from the kingdom [13:29] attended a meeting between Netanyahu and [13:32] MBZ in Abu Dhabi. Israeli journalist [13:35] George Balazad, I have cited him before. [13:37] He is one of the best sourced [13:40] journalists in Israel, especially on [13:42] issues related to Iran and the Gulf, but [13:45] he is an he is a very highly respected [13:47] journalist. Israeli journalist Jor [13:49] Balazad on Monday posted on social media [13:52] that Saudi representatives joined an [13:54] expanded meeting after Netanyahu met [13:56] Sheik Muhammad with discussions [13:58] reportedly focusing on security [14:00] cooperation, Iran, the Houthis, and [14:02] regional defense systems. A Saudi source [14:04] told Arab News that there was no truth [14:06] to the reports circulating about the [14:08] presence of a Saudi representative at [14:10] the meeting. So, they're just outright [14:11] denying it. Now, before we go on, I want [14:14] to remind you if you haven't checked it [14:15] out yet, if it's for you, if [14:18] Uh, an unbelievable trip. We We already [14:21] have a significant number of people [14:23] signed up. There are a few spots left. [14:25] Israel behind the headlines tour. March [14:27] 7th through 14th, an 8-day journey in [14:29] Israel unlike anything you've ever done [14:31] before. Uh, Dr. David Worms and myself [14:34] will jointly be leading this trip. Dr. [14:36] Worms is one of the leading experts in [14:38] the world in the Middle East. He has [14:39] served in senior positions in the US [14:41] government, in the National Security [14:42] Council, the White House, etc. as a as a [14:45] as an adviser on the Middle East. He's a [14:48] a fellow in a number of think tanks and [14:50] a wonderful person. And he is going to [14:52] be leading us around the country and [14:54] we're going to be visiting key strategic [14:57] locations, having briefings from people [14:58] in the military and the government, [15:00] community leaders, journalists. It's [15:02] going to be an amazing trip. Um, eight [15:05] days in Israel, Israel behind the [15:07] headlines with myself and Dr. David [15:08] Worms. It's five-star luxury location uh [15:12] um accommodations. So, it's a uh and [15:14] it's going to be a small trip. We're [15:15] keeping it under 20 people. So, if you [15:18] are interested, check out the link in [15:19] the description of this video. All [15:21] right, let's get back to this bizarre [15:22] story. So, now we see this [15:27] Libyan leader Haftar's airplane was in [15:30] Abu Dhabi at the same time as [15:31] Netanyahu's visit. Remember I mentioned [15:33] that in the list in the wet story in the [15:38] list of countries that were allegedly [15:40] present, one of them was Libya. [15:44] And here we're saying that the the [15:46] airplane was present. So let's check [15:47] this out. Data from flight tracking [15:49] websites showed that a Libyan Airbus [15:53] and it gives a registration number flew [15:55] from Benghazi to Abu Dhabi on Sunday at [15:58] the same time that Prime Minister [15:59] Netanyahu was in the UAE to meet MBZ. [16:02] Italian outlet Il Foggio reported on [16:05] Tuesday that plane meaning they give the [16:08] registration number. The plane has been [16:10] used by Saddam Haftar, son of the leader [16:13] of the Benghazibased Libyan National [16:16] Army, field marshal, field marshal [16:18] Khalifa Haftar, and candidate for the [16:21] Libyan presidency. Libya is going [16:22] through this whole crisis of trying to, [16:24] you know, there's like a civil war going [16:26] on. Additionally, state flights from [16:28] Morocco, [16:30] Saudi Arabia, and Qatar appeared to land [16:34] at the UAE's Albatine Executive Airport. [16:37] state flights from Morocco, Saudi [16:39] Arabia, and Qatar landed at this UAE [16:42] executive airport southeast of Abu Dhabi [16:44] on Sunday while Netanyahu was on the [16:46] ground. Ilfolio's report implies that [16:49] Haftar and Netanyahu also met in the [16:51] UAE, although neither Israeli officials [16:53] nor pro-Haftar Libyan sources have [16:55] corroborated this at the time of [16:56] writing. Notably, the UAE has been a [16:59] major backer of Haftar and the LNA [17:02] through that's the Libyan army [17:04] throughout the Libyan civil war. So the [17:06] UAE has been a backer of this group. [17:07] This is a more moderate group in Libya. [17:09] After the conflict cooled in 2021, [17:12] Haftar's LNA remained in control of [17:14] large parts of eastern and southern [17:15] Libya, but international or [17:18] organizations do not widely recognize it [17:20] as the de facto government of Libya. You [17:22] got the Turks involved on the other side [17:23] of that. It's a mess there. I should [17:25] make a video about Libya and explain [17:26] that. But here's the key for this for [17:29] this video. This is not the first time [17:31] the Haftars have reportedly met Israeli [17:32] officials. In 2021, officials from [17:35] Israel's intelligence ministry [17:36] reportedly met with Saddam Haftar, who [17:39] as a senior military commander and [17:41] deputy LNA leader has authority to act [17:44] as a proxy on behalf of his father on [17:47] the international stage. Later in [17:50] November 2021, Saddam Hafta reportedly [17:52] flew to Bengurian airport, flew to [17:55] Israel, head of this Libyan group, to [17:57] discuss potentially normalizing [18:00] relations with Israeli officials. The [18:02] visit which was first reported by Harris [18:04] was a brief stop while traveling from [18:06] Dubai to Libya. He stopped off in Israel [18:09] to meet with [18:11] to meet with you know to meet with the [18:13] Israelis about normalization. According [18:15] to reports at the time Haftar had pres [18:17] had previously contacted the Mossad's [18:20] international relations division [18:22] known as TVL which coordinates with [18:24] countries with which Israel has no [18:25] diplomatic relations. [18:28] Hafta reportedly requested Israeli [18:30] military and diplomatic assistance in [18:32] return for normalization. [18:35] Whoa. [18:37] So, we have this Libyan guy who's there [18:40] apparently at the meeting, but we also [18:42] have it buried in this story that state [18:45] flights from Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and [18:47] Qatar landed at this executive airport [18:50] in the UAE while Netanyahu was there. [18:54] And the Saudis are denying they were [18:56] present at the meeting. [18:58] Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is is, you know, [19:01] in the middle of this whole controversy [19:03] where they're being accu accused of [19:06] collaborating and cooperating and having [19:08] and seeking help from the Israelis. [19:11] That's a bad look. You're not supposed [19:12] to be not supposed to be hanging with [19:14] the Jews. So, they put out today in, you [19:18] know, this this condemnation. Check this [19:20] out. Saudi Arabia. [19:25] Sorry. [19:27] Um, now this is a YAFA News Network. [19:30] This is a Palestinian news network. [19:32] Okay. It's a strange place to run this [19:34] story, but they're the ones who run the [19:37] story. Saudi Arabia strongly condemned [19:40] the continued provocative actions by [19:42] officials in the Israeli occupation [19:43] authorities and extremist settlers [19:45] against the Al Axa compound. And this is [19:47] all just about Saudi Arabia condemning [19:50] Israel for for you know being bad to the [19:53] Palestinians and for Jews who go up on [19:55] the Temple Mount to pray as they have [19:57] over the holiday calling that a [19:59] violation of the Alaka mosque. It's so [20:01] just this in other words the Saudis [20:03] issued some statement condemning Israel [20:05] which is what you have to do if you're [20:06] being accused of being friendly with the [20:08] Israelis. [20:10] Now I'll also uh I'll just throw that in [20:13] uh on the side here just to give you a [20:14] fuller picture of what's going on. But [20:16] check this out. This is the national. [20:17] This is UAE state media basically. Okay, [20:21] this is UA basically aligned with the U [20:24] with the UAE government. Even if it's [20:26] not officially declared state media, [20:27] it's basically UAE state media. And [20:29] what's interesting is there is no [20:31] coverage at all in UAE state media of [20:35] this meeting. [20:37] There's no mention of it at all. Okay, [20:40] you look through it and I'm not going to [20:42] read every word on this page, but trust [20:44] me, it's not mentioned here. But what is [20:46] mentioned on this page? What is [20:48] mentioned is this meeting. Check this [20:50] out. Shik Mansur bin Zed MBZ meets Saudi [20:54] Crown Prince. That's I'm sorry, it's the [20:56] other MBZ. It's his younger, it's his [20:57] brother. We'll get to who he is in a [21:00] second. Shik Mansour bin Zed meets Saudi [21:02] Crown Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman. [21:05] So MBS in Saudi Arabia meets with Shik [21:08] Mansur bin Zed from the UAE today. In [21:12] the midst of all of this, he meets with [21:13] him today. Now remember, the UAE and the [21:15] Saudi Arabia don't get along that well, [21:18] especially when it comes to Yemen, [21:20] right? If you've been following the [21:21] whole Yemen story, the the Saudis and [21:24] the and the UAE were backing different [21:26] anti-hooti groups in Yemen. The Saudis [21:29] view Yemen kind of as their own area. [21:31] They didn't like that the UAE was [21:32] becoming more powerful because the STC, [21:34] the Southern Transitional Council that [21:36] was backed by the UAE, was the main [21:39] opposition force that was having success [21:40] against the Houthis. The Saudis felt [21:42] threatened by that because they didn't [21:43] want the UAE becoming the dominant [21:45] player in in Yemen against the Houthis. [21:49] They pushed the UAE and the SDC out. [21:53] So they basically got rid of the most [21:55] effective militia against the Houthis [21:58] and the UAE then pull the UAE pulled out [22:02] of OPEC recently. [22:04] Suffice it to say that relations between [22:06] the UAE and the Saudis have not been [22:07] good. [22:09] But what's this meeting all about? [22:11] MBS host Shake Mansour as Saudi UAE ties [22:15] thaw. What to know? The United Arab [22:19] Emirates vice president Shik Mansour bin [22:21] Zed held talks on in Riyad on Tuesday [22:25] with Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin [22:27] Salman and the kingdom's defense [22:30] minister. H marking [clears throat] the [22:33] first high level bilateral meeting since [22:34] a deep rupture over Yemen pushed [22:37] tensions between the two Gulf powers [22:38] into the open last year. So this is the [22:41] first meeting of this of this this first [22:44] bilateral meeting, meaning they've been [22:45] they've been present at multilateral [22:47] meetings before, but this is the first [22:48] bilateral meeting at this level between [22:52] Saudi Arabia and the UAE since ties [22:54] broke off or ties were ruptured over the [22:57] Yemen situation. According to the Saudi [22:59] press agency, Shik Mansour and Prince [23:01] Muhammad reviewed fraternal relations [23:04] between the two brotherly countries and [23:06] the latest developments in the region. [23:08] always this flowery language out of [23:10] these guys. [23:11] Prince Khaled bin Salman, the Saudi [23:14] defense minister and younger brother of [23:16] Muhammad bin Salman also attended the [23:18] meeting. Okay, the defense minister was [23:21] there. But not only him, watch. Shake [23:23] Mansour separately met with Prince [23:25] Khaled according to the official Emirati [23:28] news agency. Who's Prince Khaled? [23:31] Right, he's the Saudi defense minister. [23:34] So Shik Mansour met with him separately. [23:37] The two sides discussed ways to further [23:39] develop these relations in a manner that [23:40] serves the mutual interest of both [23:42] countries. In other words, how to deal [23:43] with the Houthis. [23:46] WAM that is the uh Emirati official [23:49] state media said Shank Mansour was [23:51] accompanied watch who was with him at [23:54] the meeting. by Ali Muhammad bin Hammad [23:56] al-Shamzi, Secretary General of the [23:58] Supreme Council for National Security, [24:01] Ali Sahed Matar al- Nyadi, chairman of [24:04] the National Emergency Crisis and [24:06] Disaster Management Authority and Naser [24:09] Hume al- Nuami, Secretary General of the [24:12] Tawun Council for Defense Enablement as [24:15] well as other senior officials. What do [24:18] these people all have in common? Let me [24:19] first sum up what you just saw here [24:21] about who these people are, who was [24:23] visiting. So Ali al-Sshamsi, the [24:25] secretary general of the Supreme [24:27] National Supreme Council for National [24:29] Security, that's the UAE's top security [24:32] coordinator, and he's traveled with MBZ [24:35] to Riad before. Okay, so he's the he's [24:38] the the continuity to to previous [24:41] meetings on the security file. He comes [24:43] on these meetings. Then you have this [24:44] guy Ali al-Niadi, chairman of the [24:47] National Emergency Crisis and Disaster [24:50] Management Authority. That's a long [24:51] name. What is this? Who are they? So [24:54] this agency, this authority h handles [24:58] civil defense, protecting critical [25:01] infrastructure [25:03] and crisis response which fits with [25:06] Saudi Arabia whose oil facilities and [25:08] airports and capital are under Houthi [25:11] attack right now. So this suggests that [25:13] the talks were about um [25:17] were were pragmatic. There were [25:19] practical talks about protecting [25:20] infrastructure and managing emergencies. [25:25] Okay? And and they could have been [25:26] drawing on the the UAE's experience of [25:28] being bombed by the Houthis. The Houthis [25:31] bombed Abu Dhabi in 2022. And then you [25:33] have this guy Dr. Nasser who made al-Nu. [25:36] Who's this? It says here that he's the [25:38] secretary general of the Tawazoon [25:40] Council. What is that? So Tawazoon runs [25:43] the UAE defense procurement and the [25:46] defense industry. Hello. [25:49] So the fact that he was brought points [25:50] to equipment under discussion whether [25:54] it's air and missile defense or [25:56] munitions or joint supply arrangements. [25:59] So this was not about political [26:01] coordination. This meeting is clearly [26:03] think about the personalities there. [26:04] this meeting between the Saudis and the [26:06] Amiratis that happened right after the [26:08] meeting, the meeting that the Saudis [26:11] claim not to have attended. This other [26:12] meeting or in the UAE where the Israelis [26:16] where Netanyahu is over there with his [26:18] security team meeting in the UAE. The [26:20] next day, the UAE guy flies over. He's [26:23] meeting with the Saudi defense minister. [26:25] He's got he's got this security team [26:27] with him. [26:29] Saudi Arabia and the UAE were once close [26:31] partners in Yemen, joining the 2015 [26:34] intervention against the Houthis, but [26:36] later backed rival anti-hi factions. And [26:39] as I said, tensions peaked in December [26:40] 2025 when the UAE backed the ST well the [26:44] UAE backed STC seized territory near the [26:46] Saudi border and the Saudis didn't like [26:49] that. They pushed them out. Okay. [26:52] Um, [26:53] so who set up the meeting? this UAE [26:56] Saudi Arabia meeting just this we'll be [26:58] very very very briefly with this story [27:00] it adds another detail Saudi Arabia's [27:03] defense minister invited UAE's vice [27:05] president to the kingdom on Tuesday [27:09] who so this was an in an initiative of [27:11] the defense establishment in Saudi [27:12] Arabia [27:14] okay that's why I pulled this up here [27:17] the Saudi olive branch came as the [27:19] kingdom reels from weeks of Houthi [27:20] attacks on its oil and tankers oil [27:23] facilities airports and capital, [27:26] right? That's why they invited over the [27:28] guy who's in charge of infrastructure [27:30] and crisis management. And I'm going to [27:32] contrast that group with a past meeting. [27:36] This is from September 2025, an earlier [27:38] meeting between MBZ and MBS, IMRAD, very [27:41] similar, right? And here also it gives a [27:43] list of who was there. And included in [27:45] it, you have people like um the head of [27:48] in the minister of investment was there [27:52] and uh ambassadors [27:54] and you know other types of people who [27:57] who have you know minister of interior, [28:01] minister of energy meaning in a normal [28:04] high level diplomatic delegation [28:07] where there's just going to be talk of [28:09] the relationship between the two [28:11] countries. You're going to have people [28:14] who handle different files in these [28:16] meetings. Both the meeting that [28:17] Netanyahu goes to with his group that [28:19] wasn't even announced in advance and [28:21] then this meeting in Riad that takes [28:23] place today, it's all defense and [28:26] security people. These look here's [28:29] here's the big picture important [28:30] takeaway here and we'll wrap up this [28:32] video. [28:33] Israel is becoming the center [28:37] of security and defense in the region. [28:41] You either cooperate with the Israelis [28:43] or you are at risk. [28:46] Who made this all public? I don't know. [28:49] Why was it leaked? I don't know. Who [28:52] leaked the fact that other countries [28:54] were there besides the UAE? [28:56] I don't know. But I argued when the [28:59] Saudis, when it first was leaked a [29:00] couple weeks ago, that the Saudis were [29:02] seeking help from the Israelis that the [29:04] Israelis should help the Saudis [29:07] publicly. They should come out and say [29:09] it. They should let the whole world know [29:10] that they're helping the Saudis defeat [29:12] the Houthis. Even if it doesn't lead to [29:14] normalization, who cares? [29:17] Because the the um what it would do even [29:22] if the Saudis betray Israel and they [29:25] don't normalize and they and they keep [29:26] bashing Israel, who cares? It'll the [29:29] whole the world is not stupid in this [29:32] way. the world stupid in other ways, but [29:34] everyone in the world will see how [29:37] Israel is protecting them and how [29:39] impotent the Turks and the and the [29:42] Pakistanis are and how they themselves [29:44] are. And it will just reinforce Israel [29:47] as a regional superpower. That's why [29:49] these things are so important. Very [29:51] interesting development. You see where [29:53] things are headed here. There's, you [29:54] see, there's what's happens in the UN [29:56] and in the media and all the anti-Israel [29:58] stuff. That's one level of reality and [30:01] it's actually not reality. And then [30:03] there's what's re then this is what's [30:04] actually happening on the ground in [30:06] terms of real geopolitics and security [30:08] and defense. And there you see that more [30:11] and more countries are lining up to [30:13] cooperate with Israel because Israel is [30:16] the regional superpower. Hope this made [30:19] sense.
