Transcript [00:01] Hello and welcome to another episode of [00:03] the Kufi Weekly. And this week, as this [00:05] episode is going to be airing on [00:06] September 10th, it's only appropriate [00:08] that we talk about the 25th anniversary [00:10] of 9/11. Now, the 9/11 terrorist attack [00:13] need no explanation. They were [00:15] devastating. They were horrendous. They [00:17] were a complete abomination. Thousands [00:20] of people were murdered simply going [00:21] about their everyday lives by radical [00:24] Islamist terrorists. [00:38] Now there are a number of factors we [00:40] could discuss. Firstly, we would think [00:42] that 25 years on the world would be more [00:45] in tune, more aware, more suspect of the [00:48] dangers of Islamic terrorism. Instead, [00:51] [music] we have seen support for Islamic [00:53] terrorism on our streets. Post 107, we [00:56] saw people celebrating the [music] [00:58] jihadist attack by Hamas on Israel. You [01:01] would think that 25 years on, we'd have [01:04] a greater understanding of the threat [01:06] that radical Islam poses. Sadly, not. In [01:09] fact, those who speak out against [01:11] radical Islam are branded Islamophobes, [01:13] bigots. Ultimately, we have to draw a [01:16] line here. This isn't a conflict with [01:18] [music] Islam or Muslims. This is a [01:21] conflict with an ideology. These are [01:23] Palestinian celebrations in the wake of [01:25] Tuesday's terror attacks in the United [01:27] States. Pal apparently Palestinians took [01:30] to the street chanting God is great. [01:32] People were throwing candy, distributing [01:34] candy to passers by. [01:36] >> Look at this. We're seeing uh people [01:38] applauding, clapping, smiling, uh happy [01:41] to to know that thousands of Americans [01:44] have died in this sneak attack. And [01:46] there you see a V for victory sign held [01:48] up to the camera. An ideology which [01:50] kills Muslims like it killed Muslims on [01:52] 9/11 like has killed Pakistani school [01:55] children in terrorist attacks which has [01:57] killed women in Afghanistan [01:59] has killed starved thousands if not [02:02] hundreds of thousands of innocent [02:04] Yemenes. There is no Islamophobia in [02:07] calling out an evil ideology which seeks [02:09] to destroy and suppress all those who [02:12] oppose it. We have seen ISIS, al-Qaeda, [02:17] the Taliban. [music] We've seen so many [02:19] iterations of different terrorist [02:21] groups. Boo Haram, Abu Sai, the list [02:24] goes on and on and on. And yet the [02:27] threat from terrorism remains as serious [02:30] as ever. And what some will say is, "No, [02:33] but America did this. Well, Israel is [02:35] doing this." If we look at history, [02:38] Israel has been attacked from its [02:40] existence simply for existing it has to [02:43] deal with terrorism and violence. [02:45] Americans are attacked simply because [02:47] they're American. [02:49] There are few other instances [02:51] ideologically where you see people, [02:53] innocent people, attacked because people [02:55] disagree with their government. We're [02:58] not talking about government employees. [02:59] We're not talking about soldiers. We're [03:01] talking about innocent people are [03:03] attacked and murdered by jihadists [03:05] simply because they are America. [03:08] Because in the jihadist mindset, it is [03:10] us against them. And countries have a [03:12] right to protect themselves and their [03:14] citizens against terrorism. They have a [03:16] right to prevent their citizens being [03:18] targeted and murdered. Ultimately, if [03:20] there's anything we take away from this [03:23] 25th anniversary, we can never forget [03:25] the acts of heroism from first [03:28] responders [music] who rushed to help [03:29] those in need. [03:32] Those who really put others above [03:36] themselves and so many who didn't return [03:38] home. 25 years ago today, [music] [03:41] thousands of people sat down for dinner [03:44] with their families, met friends for a [03:46] drink, or simply slept in their own [03:49] beds. [03:51] They did not know it would be the last [03:53] time. And we we owe it to them. We owe [03:56] it to them to continue to speak up, to [03:59] oppose radicalism and extremism, [04:02] wherever it comes from, however it [04:03] manifests itself. And we've seen this [04:06] new wave of jihadism all over the world [04:09] and the [music] ideology spreading on [04:10] the college campuses. That is a simple [04:12] reality. [screaming] [04:14] >> Oh no. [04:17] >> Oh no. Oh no. [04:20] THIS IS THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC of New [04:22] York. [04:24] >> Islam will be in every household. [04:26] Inshallah. The whole world is Muslim. [04:29] WELCOME TO MGHANI, NEW YORK. [04:32] >> You see this city? You see how it looks [04:35] and show YOUR CITY LOOKS JUST LIKE THIS [04:37] TOO. [04:37] >> WE'RE commanded to terrorize the [04:39] disbelievers and this is a religion like [04:41] I said [04:41] >> commanded to terrorize the [04:43] >> Quran says very clearly in the Arabic [04:45] lage language. [04:47] This means terrorize them. It's a [04:49] command from Allah. [04:51] >> We must stay resolute [music] in [04:52] standing with our allies who are [04:53] fighting terrorism. [04:55] Must stand shoulderto-shoulder with [04:57] them. And finally [04:59] to honor and respect those who were [05:02] murdered on that day. We must reject [05:04] these nonsensical conspiracy theories, [05:07] blaming Israel, blaming the Jews. There [05:10] have been multiple investigations. [05:12] Al-Qaeda themselves, Osama bin Laden [05:14] celebrated the attacks. Yet still, that [05:17] is not good enough for some people [05:19] because they want to see a much larger [05:22] conspiracy. [05:23] So, as we mark 25 years since the 9/11 [05:26] attacks, let's pledge never to forget. [05:30] So many people who are working now, who [05:33] graduated college were not even born [05:35] when it happened. [05:37] We must ensure that they know what [05:40] happened on that day. the toll it took [05:42] on so many families and the acts of [05:45] heroism [05:47] from ordinary New Yorkers from ordinary [05:50] people in Washington DC from first [05:53] responders [05:55] who made a difference who saved lives [05:57] and those who never came home this is [05:59] Kasim Hai with Kufi Weekly for Zion's [06:02] sake [music] do not remain silent [06:13] Thanks for checking out this episode. Twenty-five years after September 11, America appears to be forgetting the lessons written in blood that day. Instead of uniting against terrorism, we now see extremists celebrated, terrorist organizations defended and violence excused as “resistance.”
Terrorism does not seek peace or coexistence. It targets those who disagree, silences opposition and murders innocent people who simply want to live their lives.
