[00:14] And um Andrew Garfield, not worth $16 [00:16] million, thinks his latest movie is a [00:18] major FU to the billionaires. Also a 24 [00:21] Nathan Fielder made an actual insane [00:24] documentary with Elizabeth Holmes of [00:25] Theronos fame. He did Thrift Shop [00:34] and then nobody ever heard of him again. [00:36] Well, now he's back. Ed Sheeran decided [00:38] he had to have him in an Ed Sheeran [00:39] concert. And so, at his tour, which he [00:43] did a performance Friday night and [00:45] Saturday night at Metife Stadium, he got [00:47] up there in front of Metife Stadium and [00:49] started waxing poetic about the Middle [00:50] East. Because if I need somebody's [00:52] opinion on Middle Eastern politics, it [00:53] is a man who in May 2014 dressed up like [00:56] this at a Seattle concert. I feel like [00:58] he will be an unbiased source. [01:01] Probably he will be an unbiased source [01:03] on um on Middle Eastern politics and [01:05] matters related to Jews. Mlemore, [01:09] a man who dressed up like that. Well, he [01:11] had thoughts about um about the Middle [01:13] East. D McLemore, who again couldn't [01:16] locate the Middle East if spotted Saudi [01:18] Arabia. And here we go. [01:23] >> But the truth is, [01:26] >> a big part of the reason why I wanted to [01:28] do [01:30] this tour in the first place is so I [01:33] could stand up in stadiums like this and [01:37] say two words that are very near and [01:41] dear to my heart. [01:54] Palestine, [01:57] [cheering] [01:58] >> I want those words to be loud and clear [02:01] so the people all the way in Gaza to the [02:04] occupied West Bank. No, no, we have not [02:08] forgotten about them. [02:11] >> What the hell does this have to do with [02:12] an Ed Sheeran concert? So, first of all, [02:14] shame on Ed Sheeran. a a free Palestine, [02:16] by the way, that he's talking about [02:17] would be ruled by Hamas, obviously. And [02:18] the the West Bank, the parts that are [02:20] governed by the Palestinians are [02:21] governed by the extraordinarily corrupt [02:22] Palestinian Authority and Fatah, which [02:24] is its military wing. They still pay [02:26] terrorists to kill Jews over there. But [02:28] ML wore, of course, again, the Jewish [02:30] costume from May 2014, the Durmer [02:32] costume, and this all part of a piece [02:35] apparently ticket master, I believe, [02:37] that you can ask for a refund on your [02:39] concert ticket if you did not plan to go [02:42] to a pro kamas concert. you just wanted [02:44] to hear Ed Sheeran warble with a guitar [02:45] or something annoying. You know, I I [02:48] have friends who are Ed Sheeran fans for [02:50] reasons I cannot quite discern. They are [02:52] uh quite disappointed in all this. But [02:54] again, this is where popular culture has [02:56] gone because the direore cause of the [02:59] day on the left is the world's most [03:02] unsuccessful people by choice. Because [03:05] again, when it comes to the [03:06] Palestinians, they've only had 1 million [03:08] opportunities to cut any sort of peace [03:10] deal with the Israelis and have refused [03:11] every time and have elected terrorists [03:12] in their place and then trained entire [03:14] generations of young people to hate Jews [03:16] and want to murder them. This has been [03:18] the general problem in the Middle East [03:20] for quite a while. I wish it were not [03:21] the case. Everyone's been waiting for a [03:22] moderate Palestinian movement to arise [03:24] at any moment. It has yet to arise, but [03:26] at least they have Mlemore and uh and [03:28] his single hit from that one time. Also, [03:31] speaking of other stupid celebrities, so [03:34] Nick Offerman, who's a wild leftist who [03:36] played Ron Swanson, you'll remember, on [03:39] Parks and Recreation, that was his [03:40] popular character. And it was a popular [03:41] character because libertarianism is [03:43] hilarious and because he was sort of the [03:45] voice of the audience. Every time these [03:47] dogoodter park and Rex employees would [03:49] have a bad idea, he would just crush [03:51] them. Well, now Nick Offerman says that [03:53] Ron Swanson's character would eventually [03:55] realize libertarianism doesn't work and [03:57] he would become a democratic socialist [03:59] or something. I'm sure that's this is [04:00] why Nick Offerman wasn't the writer of [04:02] the show. [04:04] >> In order to have a a functioning [04:06] society, that's why libertarianism can [04:08] never work. Like on paper, the ideas are [04:10] great, but it's going to just lead to [04:12] anarchy because everyone is then open to [04:14] interpret things and whoever has the [04:16] most guns ends up winning and that's a [04:18] dumb idea. [04:20] >> That would be a tough realization for [04:21] Ron Swanson. it. I suppose I suppose but [04:25] I like to think as a Mike Shure [04:27] character that he would he would listen [04:29] to reason eventually. I've [04:45] I've been a fan of Andrew Garfield's for [04:47] a while, but he's doing his best to [04:48] convince me otherwise. Uh so the he has [04:51] made a new movie called The Uprising [04:53] with Paul Greengrass. Apparently I would [04:56] imagine that the thing is not tracking [04:57] well because they're already changing [04:59] the branding on the movie right they're [05:01] already changing the branding. So now [05:02] they're saying it's like the story of [05:03] Robin Hood which again it looked like [05:05] the Watt Tyler rebellion honestly from [05:07] all the previews. But um here is Andrew [05:10] Garfield talking about how billionaires [05:12] should be scared bleepless. He is worth [05:14] $16 million for saying things in front [05:15] of a camera that other people write. [05:19] What's your dream takeaway for people in [05:22] the audience when they go home? What are [05:25] you hoping for? [05:26] >> Well, first I I hope they come and see [05:28] it for for first thing. Um, but but [05:30] secondly, I I hope it get it's it's [05:32] galvanizing. I hope there's some [05:33] awakening that people feel that they [05:35] feel that their own that we all feel [05:38] like our own struggles are being [05:39] reflected in the struggles of these [05:41] characters from a distant a distant time [05:43] and place. And it could be directive. [05:45] And uh I hope that if any billionaires [05:48] watch it, they're scared. [05:53] And nobody laughs. [laughter] [05:55] Who funds the movies? They apparently [07:47] got the inside scoop [07:49] on Elizabeth Holmes and she was the [07:52] grifter who griftered people out of [07:53] literally billions of dollars based on [07:54] technology. She never revealed to [07:56] anybody. [07:57] This documentary is titled You Can See [07:59] Everything. And it it has Nathan Fielder [08:01] and uh his director following her around [08:04] for the 34 days before she went to [08:06] prison. And uh here is the preview. Oh [08:09] boy. Parker [09:49] became famous for one of the most [09:50] ridiculous scams in American history. He [09:52] [music] sold the Brooklyn Bridge, not [09:54] tickets to the bridge and not a tour of [09:56] the bridge like the bridge itself. He [09:58] would [music] allegedly produce official [09:59] looking documents and then he would [10:01] claim some right of ownership or [10:02] control. He would explain that the new [10:04] buyer could make people [music] money by [10:06] charging tolls to people crossing the [10:07] bridge. The Brooklyn Bridge really had [10:09] charged tolls in its early years, [10:10] [music] so that lie had just enough [10:12] truth to make the fraud feel plausible. [10:14] Reports suggest that George C. [music] [10:16] Parker sold the Brooklyn Bridge up to [10:18] twice a week for decades. The punch line [10:21] is not just that people bought it. The [10:22] punch line is that some of them actually [10:23] showed up afterward trying to put up [10:25] toll boots. [music] Imagine how that [10:27] conversation with the NYPD went. Sir, [10:28] what are you doing? Well, officer, I'm [10:30] here because I own the Brooklyn Bridge. [10:33] And this is where we actually get the [10:34] phrase, "If you believe that, I've got a [10:36] bridge in Brooklyn to sell you." Parker [10:38] was also associated [music] with scams [10:39] involving other New York landmarks like [10:41] the Statue of Liberty or Madison Square [10:43] Garden, Rance's Tomb, [music] even the [10:45] Metropolitan Museum of Art. The man [10:47] basically ran a fake Zillow page for [10:48] things that obviously were not for sale. [10:50] Here is the uncomfortable [music] part. [10:52] The scam was not really about the [10:53] bridge. It was about paperwork. Because [10:56] Parker understood something that [10:57] criminals still understand today. People [10:59] trust documents. [music] [11:00] People trust records. People trust [11:02] signatures. People trust official [11:04] looking seals. When a fraudster can [11:06] corrupt the paper trail, even something [11:07] absurd suddenly starts to [music] look [11:09] real. So fast forward to today. The con [11:10] man doesn't need to stand outside the [11:12] Brooklyn Bridge in [music] a decent [11:13] looking suit. He doesn't need a forged [11:15] deed in a leather briefcase. He's got [11:17] the internet. He has public records. has [11:19] your personal information and he may [11:21] have your home in his sight.
