For our very first [00:16] inaugural YouTube exclusive, we decided [00:19] we would answer some questions from you [00:21] guys. [00:34] >> we had put out a we told said on the [00:36] show, "Send us your questions in DMs and [00:39] we will go through them and these are [00:41] ones that we just got over and over [00:42] again." And then Ashley also put in a [00:44] Q&A box on our Instagram story. So, this [00:47] is all just questions from that. So, we [00:49] will just go through all of them and [00:50] this lasts as long as it lasts. I don't [00:52] know how long this is going to take. So, [00:54] first up and very, very important, [00:56] Megan, how do you commingle with Nova [00:59] moms at school when they are all [01:02] liberals? [01:04] How do you deal? [01:05] School just started. So, [01:08] >> This is a deep question. Okay. [01:11] >> Right out the gate. [01:12] >> Okay. The area I live in is very [01:14] liberal, it's true. [01:16] Um, there are pockets of secret [01:17] conservatives that I have found. Also, I [01:19] would like to say I have two good mom [01:21] friends that I have met that I really [01:23] like and one of them is a real Democrat. [01:26] I'm not going to expose who she is cuz I [01:28] don't want her to [01:29] have anything to be and I don't want her [01:31] to get in trouble for being friends with [01:32] me, who worked for an extremely [01:34] high-profile Democrat presidential [01:36] candidate. I will tell you offline. Um, [01:39] and still like has a relationship with [01:41] him and if [01:42] >> And she goes to school with her. [01:44] >> It's not her. Uh, if this person runs [01:46] him runs for president again, she will [01:48] most likely probably work with him [01:49] again. So, and she is one of my dear [01:51] friends. We actually just did a playdate [01:53] last weekend. Um, so I have I the social [01:57] circles I just find in mom land to be [01:58] challenging and that's not a referendum [02:01] on the other mothers because it's like [02:03] more about me and it's more that like [02:05] >> [sighs] [02:06] >> it's not that I think I'm like so famous [02:08] cuz I don't. Like you know, I can go [02:10] anywhere I want no one cares. [02:11] It's more that like [02:13] if you Google me, there's things that [02:15] come up like that are [02:17] drunk photos from my youth [laughter] [02:19] like just you know, things that are just [02:21] like not necessarily the person I am now [02:23] and as we all know, my job is to give [02:24] the hottest of hot takes and hot takes [02:27] are hot takes and sometimes whatever and [02:29] Look, I have a lot [02:30] >> there's people who have hot takes about [02:32] you also that come up when they Google [02:35] you. [02:35] >> I think it's fair to say that's [02:37] reflective also of our culture. [02:40] I speak to some of my [02:42] normie friends who are just everyday [02:44] normal people, they have regular jobs [02:45] and they have the same experience [02:47] not the exact same but a same similar [02:50] lived experience where they're just like [02:52] everything is so touchy now, it's [02:54] complicated to even try to navigate [02:56] befriending people because A, you don't [02:58] know what someone's going to be horribly [03:00] offended by or um [03:04] just everyday normal topics of [03:05] conversation can turn into hot button [03:07] issues or you make a joke and someone is [03:10] doesn't share the same sense of humor [03:12] and all of a sudden A, you're some sort [03:13] of inappropriate weirdo or you're not [03:16] fun or whatever it is. [03:18] >> And one of the moms I became friends [03:19] with it was literally just because our [03:21] daughters were like became good friends [03:22] in class and they wanted to hang out. [03:24] So, I was like hope this works and [03:26] luckily she's really cool. So, there you [03:28] go. [03:29] >> Okay. [03:30] Mount Rushmore of scary spooky movies [03:33] now that it's fall. This is also going to be um [05:36] important and thought-provoking. Um [05:39] favorite and least favorite housewife of [05:42] all time. [05:44] >> My favorite is Erika Jayne. [05:59] >> I would say probably just a Tamra Judge. [06:01] I love people who are sassy and stir the [06:03] pot. So, there's kind of an overall [06:05] theme with those three. Least favorite [06:07] is uh [06:08] Eboni from New York City cuz she tanked [06:10] the series with the originals. [06:13] So, I don't like Eboni. Um I as a person [06:15] she's fine. We've had her on the show. [06:17] She's, you know, whatever. She's fine, [06:19] but [06:19] >> She was a terrible housewife. [06:21] >> the show. She was a terrible housewife. [06:22] Uh Teddy, sorry she's ill, but she was [06:25] not a good housewife. I did not like her [06:27] on the show. And uh Lydia from Orange [06:29] County. I don't think she added any [06:31] value and I don't think she was a good [06:32] housewife. I think she was very boring. [06:34] >> I think I mean, honestly, my my hot take [06:36] is that Kyle Richards is wildly [06:37] overrated. That's my That's my hot take. [06:40] I think my [06:41] >> too many secrets to be such a [06:43] long-running tenured housewife. [06:45] >> And I think the fact that she was in a [06:46] relationship with a woman allegedly and [06:49] then wouldn't be candid about it or [06:50] shout about it or show us it. [06:55] >> But I I've got to tell you, Miranda and [06:57] I is also hottest of hot takes is that [06:59] um I'm kind of over the Housewives right [07:01] now. I will watch Salt Lake City and [07:03] Beverly Hills and that's kind of it. I [07:04] don't really care anymore. I It got too [07:07] It's too political. It's too scripted. [07:10] It's just [07:10] >> way too self-produced. Everyone is so [07:13] there to just sell their own It's [07:15] very annoying. [07:16] >> Yeah, I think Bravo's entering some [07:18] tenuous territory if Miranda and I are [07:20] off the bandwagon. [07:21] >> Yeah, we were we were very um die-hard [07:24] Bravo fans, very much like pushing the [07:27] agenda and carrying water for Andy Cohen [07:29] for [07:30] decades, I would say. And now it's just [07:33] it's I can't even get into this Ultimate [07:35] Girls Trip All-Stars and I was a huge [07:37] proponent of that for 5 years, begging [07:40] for it. I watched 10 minutes of it and [07:42] got bored and turned it off. Next [07:43] question. [07:44] >> question is they want you to share your [07:47] lipstick recommendations. Everybody's [07:49] always asking what is your lip color? I [07:51] don't know if you see this in the [07:52] comments, but everyone's like, "Yeah, [07:54] yeah, yeah, I like what you said, but [07:55] what is your lipstick?" So [07:56] >> I have I should have brought it in. It's [07:58] the one I use a lot is this Fenty lip [08:00] gloss that's purple and I use it with I [08:03] actually use Baby Lips Chapstick like [08:06] you There's like from the grocery store [08:08] like from or from like the the skinny [08:10] one? [08:10] >> Like the soft lips baby lips? Yeah. [08:12] >> really like yeah, like soft lips baby [08:14] lips in a cherry, I believe. So I do [08:17] Benetint, which is just like the [08:19] >> Oh, I love that Benefit Benefit brand [08:22] stuff. [08:23] >> and it's a lip stain and it just makes [08:24] your lips look cherry. I do this for my [08:25] everyday life. And then I either do a [08:28] Fenty skin one, but I also have this [08:30] Fenty purple one and you'll see it. It's [08:32] like a thing I'll we'll put it [08:33] underneath the thing in the comments. [08:35] And then this place Skin by Ella Rose [08:37] lip oil. They have this and then they [08:39] have one in a lighter pink color. I wear [08:41] the I wear the living hell out of that [08:42] all the time. [08:43] >> more into a lip stain than a regular [08:46] lipstick? [08:47] >> I like a lip stain with um a lip oil. [08:49] That's my that's my secret everyday. Um [08:52] and I saw Nicole Kidman recently talking [08:54] about how she likes the same thing like [08:56] she likes a berry natural with a lip [08:59] stain and a lip oil over it. So that's [09:01] what I do most days and on the show I [09:03] like to experiment and play. I'm not [09:04] great with hair and makeup. It is not my [09:06] forte, but I we try and sometimes I do [09:09] well and sometimes I do not. It just [09:11] depends on the day. [09:12] >> Uh okay, so Megan is Ransom named for [09:14] Jimmy Stewart's character in The Man Who [09:16] Shot Liberty Valance? [09:18] >> Yes, [09:19] uh [09:20] good call. Nobody gets that. Also from a [09:22] C.S. the C.S. Lewis novel. On Ben and [09:24] I's like first uh vacation away, we went [09:27] to a cabin in the Shenandoah. We watched [09:29] The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and who [09:31] knew that uh it was like the first movie [09:33] we ever watched together and we both [09:34] love it. It's an old western with Jimmy [09:36] Stewart and um who knew that it would [09:39] end up uh being [09:42] uh you know, the movie that inspired so [09:44] much of my children's names. Liberty is [09:46] named Liberty because during COVID I [09:47] thought it was truly the end of the [09:49] world and I thought that the apocalypse [09:51] was here and she needed a name where she [09:54] could fight the robots and the zombies. [09:55] So, I thought that it needed to be [09:57] strong and we were going to name her [09:58] that or Ripley like from Alien. [10:00] >> I remember that. Those were your baby [10:02] names cuz you called Coco when I was [10:04] pregnant with her baby Liberty, too. [10:06] >> Yes. Yes. [10:07] >> I love that. You were always going to [10:09] name your daughter [10:09] >> And people like not to let whatever, [10:11] people have copied the name including [10:13] Ebony Williams by the way after like a [10:15] lot more people have uh have that name [10:18] now. Um and I take credit for it cuz [10:20] whatever. And then yeah, Ransom that is [10:22] so funny. Those are the two uh things [10:25] he's named for. People love or hate [10:26] Ransom's name. They either really get [10:28] it. It's an like I said, it's like an [10:30] old cowboy old school name with like, [10:34] you know, C.S. Lewis connotations, [10:36] Christian connotations. Um there's a [10:38] quote in the Bible [10:40] that talks about like giving ransom to [10:41] Christ. Like there's a bunch of [10:43] different meanings to it, but people [10:44] obviously think of it in the the holding [10:47] someone for ransom way, but I uh think [10:49] of it in a in the like I said, in the [10:51] C.S. Lewis and the um the man who shot [10:53] Liberty Valance. [10:54] >> Okay, so Meghan, you've talked a lot [10:56] about your bad experiences, but did you [10:58] have uh like what are your favorite or [11:00] best memories from your time at The [11:02] View? [11:04] >> My dad coming on the show. Uh it was [11:06] like basically the last big public [11:07] appearance he did before he was sick. [11:09] Meeting Dolly Parton as we just talked [11:11] about. Um I interviewed a lot of [11:14] candidates that uh like when they were [11:17] running for president different ways, [11:18] but never got asked hard questions and I [11:19] was able to like ask them um some like [11:23] difficult questions that ended up like [11:24] making news at the time. The Halloween [11:27] shows were amazing. We they did really [11:29] big uh they had Broadway costume [11:32] designers do our costumes. I have one [11:34] where I dressed like Elsa where I could [11:35] like literally have made money off of [11:37] being an Elsa impersonator. Thank you. [11:39] Um, I mean, look, it was a very [11:40] challenging time in my life and I would [11:42] uh, I I don't I was very uh, [11:45] I'm one of two hosts that quit on their [11:47] own in the entire show's history and I [11:49] just couldn't do it anymore and I felt [11:50] like I was going to go crazy and [11:52] recently there was a Page Six reporter [11:54] who called me actually over the break [11:56] who wrote a really nasty ass story about [11:58] me uh, in relationship to The View [12:00] saying The View didn't want to invite [12:01] and the and the headline is pain in the [12:03] ass Meghan back and then really and [12:05] rehashed, feel free to Google it, [12:07] rehashed like every bad thing that ever [12:09] happened on the show and it was such a [12:11] when he called called my uh, the press [12:14] person I work with and when the Page Six [12:16] people called me, I I like actually [12:17] started shaking when I heard when I like [12:19] picked up the phone cuz I was like, I [12:20] can't do this again. I am 5 years out [12:23] from this show. I can't be engulfed in [12:24] your drama and your and your [12:26] trash. I don't want to have anything to [12:28] do with it and I told uh, the press [12:30] person I work with, I was like, I just [12:32] don't ever want to have anything to do [12:34] with this ever again and apparently like [12:36] it's that even that request isn't really [12:38] abided. But it was a good reminder of [12:40] like, oh, that's why I don't do this [12:42] anymore. So, although there were good [12:44] moments, um, [12:46] if I had a time machine and someone [12:48] said, "Meghan, would you sign this [12:49] contract at The View again?" [12:51] I mean, I don't want to say never [12:52] because I the path like it's a butterfly [12:54] effect. It's like the the path of my [12:56] life [12:57] >> I love where I am now. [12:58] But if I could get the exact same in my [13:00] life now without having done it, I would [13:02] not do it again and um, [13:05] uh, God have mercy on any conservative [13:07] woman's soul who ends up on that show, [13:09] for real. [13:10] >> And it don't mean [13:11] >> think I sound dramatic, but uh, there's [13:13] going to be someday, you guys, you know [13:14] that like TikTok trend where it's like, [13:16] me sitting down for the documentary [13:18] about whatever, mine is me sitting down [13:20] for the tell-all about what really [13:21] happens at The View. [13:22] >> So, do you think Mitch McConnell is [13:24] alive? [13:26] >> Dude, I was I think he's alive, but I [13:28] don't think he's well, and I think it's [13:29] very sad. [13:30] >> of his own volition or he's alive via [13:32] machine? [13:33] >> he's alive. I think he's obviously very [13:35] sick, and I think it's really he should [13:37] have stepped down. I think this is very [13:39] sad and unfair to his constituents, and [13:41] I think it's conspiratorial, and I just [13:44] it's all it makes it doesn't I don't [13:46] even take like entertainment value [13:47] >> joy in this, right? I think it's very [13:49] weird. I think he needs to step down. I [13:52] don't know why they're not letting Andy [13:54] Beshear uh run his state the way it [13:57] needs to be run, and I if I lived in [14:00] Kentucky, I would be screaming no [14:02] taxation without representation, and [14:04] this is very unconstitutional. I don't [14:07] know I I understand what they're doing. [14:10] I don't understand why they're doing it. [14:12] It feels very um negligent and gross. [14:15] Okay, so, is there anything that Mom [14:17] Donny is doing in New York City that you [14:19] do like? [14:20] >> Oh, I will tell you one thing I like he [14:21] did. Um he jumped in the community [14:23] Central Park pool. [14:24] >> That was cute. [14:25] >> Park North, um which has been a [14:27] tradition for mayors that I believe [14:28] Bloomberg stopped doing, and um I [14:30] thought it was nice for him to like jump [14:32] in the pool to start summer off with the [14:34] kids. Um as I've said and I've taken so [14:37] much for, look, I think he's like [14:40] arguably top three or four most talented [14:43] politicians in America easily. He's [14:45] helping reanimate the Democrat Party [14:47] into his image of socialism. He's [14:49] incredibly dangerous uh from that [14:51] perspective, um but he's like socialism [14:54] with a smile, and he's like cuddly, and [14:56] he seems like he could be like your your [14:58] like neighbor or like your like, you [14:59] know, your friend that you know down the [15:01] street, and the coziness of him I think [15:03] is what's most dangerous because like El [15:05] Sayed and people like, you know, he's so [15:08] caustic and harsh, and he's like always [15:09] yelling. [15:10] >> He's not a candidate, but he's so [15:12] caustic within the party. It's There's a [15:15] lot of negativity coming from those [15:16] guys. Mom Donny, A, whenever he's asked [15:19] a question on the street [15:21] at random, he knows he knows he's [15:23] >> always smiling and he always knows [15:25] everything about what they're talking [15:26] about. He's so engaged with the public [15:30] and with his constituents. Um and I [15:32] think that there's a lot of that missing [15:34] around the country. People are so [15:36] um [15:37] not accessible and he is. [15:39] >> Also, he genuinely seems to love his [15:40] wife, which I I I always appreciate [15:43] that.
