And the reason being if I see [00:04] somebody feeling down, I'm like, well, [00:06] this person has forgotten what is [00:08] coming. [00:09] >> Yes. [00:09] >> So, let me go and quickly remind my [00:11] sister. Let me remind my brother. Some [00:13] random act of kindness, something that I [00:16] can do to brighten their day, [00:19] >> helps them remember, oh wow, okay, I'm [00:21] still in this race. God still has other [00:24] people. God still has other children. [00:26] And we will make it there. So iron [00:29] sharpening iron is definitely something [00:32] personally we keep ourselves inspired by [00:34] staying in the word and keying into what [00:37] the Holy Spirit is saying and doing but [00:40] then encouraging others. Hm. So, we've [00:42] been talking about heaven right from [00:45] time and on this uh this year's um youth [00:49] convention, the concept of heaven and [00:52] the theme of heaven has been addressed [00:55] using a particular context in the sense [00:59] that yes, we understand that heaven is [01:01] our home and we understand that uh but [01:04] just beyond heaven as being our home, [01:08] >> we know that we are citizens of heaven. [01:10] >> Yes. Right. So as a citizen of heaven. [01:13] So what does it mean to live as a [01:15] citizen of heaven that is operating here [01:19] on the earth? [01:20] >> It's ambassadorship. [01:22] >> It's ambassadorship. And that's so [01:24] powerful there. You know, I think [01:25] there's a scripture ah help me Holy [01:27] Spirit. I'm not sure if it's first [01:28] Corinthians or 2 Corinthians now, but it [01:30] says we are the fragrance of Christ [01:33] being dispelled. [01:34] >> Yeah. [01:35] >> God is dispelling the fragrance of [01:37] Christ through us to the world. So it's [01:40] ambassadorship you know um for instance [01:44] now I am a a dual citizen I'm a citizen [01:48] of the US and of Nigeria now when I'm in [01:52] Nigeria I know I still kind of represent [01:54] the US when I'm here [01:56] >> but it's ambassadorship so I know that [01:58] my actions here have ramifications there [02:01] same thing my actions there have [02:03] ramifications here and so it's [02:05] ambassadorship where it's like that [02:07] scripture that says we are in the world [02:08] but No, you're not of the world. Yes. [02:11] >> So while I'm here, I'm being an [02:12] ambassador. Heaven is a location. [02:15] However, that location is also embedded [02:17] in me. So wherever I go, Jesus is in my [02:20] life and I am a representation of that [02:24] soon coming location, heaven by my own [02:27] activity here. So I'm literally an [02:30] ambassador [02:31] >> for heaven. So my behavior, my outlook [02:34] on life, my character, my integrity, my [02:38] hopes, what I pay attention to, I am [02:41] evidencing [02:43] >> my citizenship of heaven while here on [02:46] the earth. And you know Jesus said we [02:47] are the light of the world. [02:49] >> The city set on a hill cannot be hidden. [02:51] So each of us carrying the Holy Spirit [02:53] is that light. The world is getting [02:55] darker. You know the Bible says in [02:57] Isaiah I think 60, arise, shine for your [03:01] light is coming. The light has come and [03:02] glory of God is risen upon you. He says [03:04] darkness will fill the earth gross [03:05] darkness the people but we we are that [03:09] light that even when everywhere is dark [03:11] you know and by the way the darker the [03:13] dark darkness the brighter little light [03:16] will be [03:17] >> so don't shine your little light because [03:18] that ambassadorship is what keeps the [03:21] world knowing that hey Christ is still [03:24] here. [03:25] >> Yeah. [03:26] >> So um you've talked about shining the [03:29] light. shining light and it's also very [03:31] similar to uh what uh one of the [03:34] speakers uh spoke during the convention [03:36] that in the personal of pastor Femund [03:40] the national youth pastor and he talked [03:42] about us being the salt of the earth the [03:46] light of the world and the salt of the [03:48] earth but then it brings this [03:50] >> um it brings this uh question we see a [03:54] lot of people that come in with the [03:56] mindset of oh yes we are born again we [03:59] speak in tongues we know we are going to [04:01] heaven and they just feel like okay [04:03] heaven is their home they have no [04:06] business here on earth and they just [04:08] leave the earth like as if they really [04:11] they have no purpose [04:13] >> here on earth because they just feel [04:15] okay fine we are on earth so that we can [04:17] go to heaven. So what do you say to uh [04:20] people who might have that viewpoint uh [04:23] that yes we know you are ambassadors of [04:27] Christ here on earth but then how do you [04:30] then leave this world [04:32] >> the kingdom way such that it can display [04:35] the excellency of God [04:38] >> yes [04:38] >> in this earth. [04:39] >> Absolutely. I love that question. Um [04:42] because I I heard a pastor say once you [04:44] can be so heavenly minded that you are [04:46] no earthly good. H [04:48] >> yes you can be so [04:50] >> it's not my quote I heard it [04:52] unfortunately I don't remember the [04:54] original person who said it but I've [04:56] heard that and it stuck with me uh you [04:58] can be so heavenly minded that you are [05:01] no earthly good and this is it's [05:02] happened before there was a period I [05:05] believe in the 40s the '50s 1940s 1950s [05:08] where there were these date setters ah [05:11] Jesus is coming in 19 you know 63 then [05:14] Jesus didn't come in 1963 okay he's [05:16] coming in 1973 and people literally [05:19] would sell their houses, sell everything [05:22] and we're no longer participating in [05:24] society because they say ah we are going [05:26] to heaven so we leave you guys alone. [05:29] But that's not what God has called us [05:31] to. If all God wanted us to was leave [05:33] here physically and just go to heaven [05:35] the minute he saved us, he would have I [05:37] mean what's the point after you save us? [05:39] Eh, just take us and go now. But it's [05:42] beautiful because God saves us and then [05:44] leaves us here to walk. H [05:46] >> that should trigger in every Christian's [05:49] mind the fact that God is concerned for [05:53] here. You know in the in the Bible we [05:55] hear about the laborers you know and the [05:57] master going out at the third hour, the [06:00] 6th hour, the 9th hour, the 12th hour [06:03] >> almost to gather more laborers. God says [06:05] the harvest is plentiful but the workers [06:08] are few. We have to understand that God [06:10] is constantly continuously perpetually [06:14] until the end of time. He's laboring for [06:17] souls. [06:19] >> And so when you become a believer, you [06:21] join the father in co- lababoring for [06:24] souls. So salvation in terms of [06:27] justification and then beginning your [06:28] work of sanctification is a process of [06:31] you joining God in co- laboring for [06:34] souls. It's not let me cross my hands [06:37] and wait till I go to heaven. No, it's [06:39] like now you're part of the family. You [06:41] just got hired. You are now part of the [06:43] company. Oh yeah, we have this project, [06:45] that project, that project, and we go [06:46] and do it because that's what the father [06:48] himself is doing. [06:49] >> Wow. [06:50] >> Even God hasn't rested. What? What do [06:52] you mean? You're sitting around doing [06:53] what? No, you must work cuz that's the [06:56] purpose of being saved and beginning to [06:58] work. [06:59] >> H Yeah, you've you've actually opened uh [07:03] a [07:04] You open a Pandora's box. Yeah. Talking [07:07] about having to walk and it it it [07:10] reminds me of a scripture where Jesus [07:12] says that um my father walks through and [07:17] I also [07:18] >> I also work. [07:19] >> Yes. [07:20] >> So but you see a lot of people want to [07:21] feel that okay because they are [07:23] Christians they just believe that [07:25] everything should just fall into them [07:27] and they just feel okay fine we're [07:29] Christians uh we're going to heaven and [07:31] all. But then now when we come to [07:34] kingdom business, [07:36] >> kingdom business, I [07:38] and I beg your pardon to say I feel a [07:41] lot of a lot of Christians have had the [07:44] notion that [07:46] they are working for God. So that God [07:51] can bless them. [07:52] >> Oh dear. [07:52] >> So that God can bless them. And he [07:55] begins to feel within me that okay so [07:57] what if God tells you that [08:00] >> um all right I'm not giving you this [08:03] blessing now will you still work for me [08:06] >> exactly [08:07] >> so will you still work for me if I'm not [08:09] going to bless you in the way and manner [08:12] you think I am going to bless you would [08:15] you still work for me so what do you [08:16] have to say about uh people that um they [08:20] say okay they are serving God [08:22] passionately yes they They are doing [08:24] things for God but they have that notion [08:26] that oh they only doing it so that God [08:29] can bless them and not having that [08:32] kingdom mindset of service unto their [08:35] father the king. [08:37] >> I think that's where the Bible says let [08:39] the let um ah love the Lord your God [08:44] with all your heart all your mind. You [08:47] see, most transactional Christians have [08:51] not fully experienced the love of God. [08:54] >> And I love relationships. Relationships [08:57] have taught me. Every time I've wondered [08:59] about my relationship with God, God will [09:02] use relationships to teach me about him. [09:05] So, I didn't understand the love of God [09:07] as a father. And then I thought back on [09:09] my own growing up. And then I became a [09:12] parent and I was like, "Ah, okay. I see [09:15] the extent of the love now." cuz I see [09:17] what I would do for my own children. [09:19] >> I'm like, "Okay, so that's how much God [09:21] loves me." I got married. I say, "Oh, [09:23] okay." So, this thing is not [09:24] transactional. If every time I cook for [09:27] my husband, I'm like, "Ah, I'm only [09:28] cooking for you so that you can give me [09:30] this more change or this or that." It [09:33] becomes transactional. [09:35] >> Yeah. [09:35] >> There's no love there. [09:37] >> It's a task. [09:39] >> Yeah. [09:39] >> It's very much it becomes a task. And [09:42] when once you degrade your relationship [09:44] with God to a transactional nature, you [09:47] you are basic basically a slave. You're [09:50] not a son. [09:51] >> Not a son yet. You can see because a son [09:54] doesn't do things for his parents or a [09:57] daughter doesn't do things for her [09:59] parents just because if I do this, they [10:02] will do this, [10:02] >> they will do this. [10:03] >> No. Are you part of the family? You [10:06] know, do you remove the refuge from the [10:08] house just because if I do this, they'll [10:11] do that or do we remove the refuge from [10:13] the house because if we don't, there [10:14] will be [10:16] flies and consequences in the house that [10:19] will not make it convenient for all of [10:21] us. [10:22] >> So once you go from transaction to love [10:25] and that's what sets Christianity apart [10:28] from every other religious system. Every [10:30] other religious system is transactional. [10:33] I do this, you do this. I do this, you [10:35] do this. And the minute Christians get [10:36] to that state of mind, you're turning [10:38] God into a magician, a genie. If I do [10:41] this for you, then you do this for me. [10:43] If I do this for you, you do this for [10:44] me. But that's not the pattern even the [10:46] apostles set. [10:48] >> They suffered. They became Christians [10:50] and suffered more after becoming [10:53] Christians. Paul said, "I pressed toward [10:55] the mark of the high calling." It's a [10:58] love relationship. When you love your [11:00] father and you love your fellow siblings [11:02] in the body of Christ, you do things out [11:05] of love, out of this is family, [11:08] >> not because, oh, if I do this for you, [11:09] you did this for me. It's it's very [11:11] transactional and it's not genuine love. [11:15] >> And and the Bible says God is love and [11:17] God is love. [11:18] >> Until you get to that point of loving [11:20] God, you serve him because you love him. [11:22] You serve him because of who he is, not [11:25] because of what he can do. Hm. So, um, [11:28] like I said, you have still opened that [11:30] Pandora's box. [11:33] So, and you've been talking about love [11:35] and, um, I especially like the angle [11:39] that you're bringing in such that, uh, [11:42] >> so that people will serve God out of [11:44] genuine love, not out of being [11:46] transactional. So as [11:49] >> you know as a gospel artist [11:52] >> uh talking about okay ministering from [11:55] the heart of love ministering from the [11:58] heart of you know worship to the father. [12:00] So how does how do you get that kind of [12:04] what are the things you do [12:06] >> that draws that encounter [12:08] >> uh with god personally even before your [12:12] ministrations? Oh yeah, absolutely. It's [12:14] time spent. Time, you know. Um the [12:17] greatest currency I believe we have [12:20] >> is time and relationship. [12:23] >> Time and relationship. Relationship is [12:25] how I relate with other people. [12:26] >> Other people. [12:27] >> But then time is how much time I have to [12:29] do that relating with other people [12:31] including God himself cuz he's a person. [12:34] The Holy Spirit is a person. Jesus is a [12:36] person. the triune God who is expressed [12:39] in those very varying forms to our [12:42] understanding the limited understanding [12:44] we currently have. [12:46] >> Um but for me as a music minister my [12:49] relationship with God has to be [12:52] continuous [12:53] >> you know whatever is seen on a platform [12:56] on a stage is merely an outcropping of [13:00] what has already been going on inside [13:02] >> inside. Yeah. [13:03] >> Yeah. The songs I sing on the stage are [13:06] songs I've been singing in my secret [13:08] place to the father in our own [13:10] particular love relationship. If you see [13:12] me crying on stage is because I realize [13:15] something God has done for me off the [13:17] stage that I can come on the stage and [13:18] cry about. You know, if if if I minister [13:22] something and it touches somebody, it [13:24] blesses me because it's they connecting [13:27] to an experience that I've had with God, [13:29] a deliverance I've had from God, an [13:32] encounter I've had with God that can now [13:35] be transmitted through music on a [13:37] platform. But it all happens off the [13:41] stage. This stage again is merely an [13:44] outcropping of a life that is yielded, a [13:48] life that is running with God, chasing [13:51] after God, being chased by God. [13:55] >> Um, but for me practically, you know, [13:57] you have to read the word, you have to [13:59] pray, you have to worship, you have to [14:02] seek God's face, you have to apologize [14:05] when you offend God. [14:06] >> It's not because, oh, I'm so scared God [14:08] is going to cast me away. No, but if I [14:10] offend my husband and I do something he [14:12] doesn't like for us to continue having [14:14] our laughing relationship in the house, [14:16] I have to go back and say no, I'm so [14:18] sorry. I did something wrong. Is God the [14:20] Holy Spirit? Did I grieve the Holy [14:22] Spirit in something I said or something [14:24] I did or how I didn't respond when he [14:27] was giving me a nudge to do something. [14:29] It's that constant walk with God [14:32] >> and having that personal [14:35] >> not even an altar, it's a life [14:38] >> yielded. It's not just a place. It's not [14:40] just a location. It's a life completely [14:43] yielded moment by moment with God. And [14:46] then the stage just happens to be where [14:48] God allows other people to catch a [14:50] glimpse of what's happening on the [14:52] inside. [14:52] >> Wow. And you know, you mentioned [14:55] something about, you know, a life yod to [14:57] God [14:58] >> and and [15:00] >> and it's not easy by the way. So don't [15:01] think I'm saying this like, oh, it's so [15:03] sweet. No, it's hard [15:05] >> sometimes. [15:06] >> Of course. sometimes because I I you [15:09] talked about yieldedness and and I'm [15:11] like okay so imagine that God just God [15:15] just calls you and say okay my daughter [15:18] all right leave what you're doing now [15:20] and then go to this country and be there [15:22] for and you wondering [15:25] >> how do you twice sir [15:29] >> and I love this I love this because this [15:31] concept for me this is why I love [15:33] relating with fathers and elders And you [15:36] know people in the kingdom who have gone [15:38] ahead of us because whenever I think oh [15:40] God is asking me to do too much or what [15:43] God is asking of me is too much. Go back [15:45] to the fathers from our the fathers that [15:47] are still in our generation to even the [15:50] apostolic fathers. [15:51] >> Hear their stories. [15:53] >> Hear their stories and then you look at [15:55] yourself. I'm like I've not yielded [15:58] surrender. I've not surrendered at all. [16:02] Because whatever God asks you to do, he [16:05] knows why. [16:06] >> His father and you know I I was oh I was [16:09] doing a study recently and I said the [16:13] struggle throughout scripture is always [16:16] is it your will or mine? [16:18] >> H [16:18] >> that is this if I can summarize the [16:21] Bible and its struggle. [16:23] >> Yeah. humans and God and even demons and [16:26] whatever else you want whatever other [16:28] supernatural sentient entities there are [16:31] out there. The struggle is always is it [16:34] your will or is it mine? That was the [16:36] struggle with Lucifer I want it my way [16:39] or will I have it God's way. Adam and [16:41] Eve God said but let's do it this way. [16:44] >> Tower of Babel God said disperse. No, [16:46] you guys said let's do it this way. All [16:49] the way down to Judas. Judas himself. [16:52] Okay. I love Jesus. I'm one of his [16:53] disciples. I like his power and [16:55] everything he's doing, but I think he [16:57] should do [16:58] >> I think I love money more. [16:59] >> I think I love I think I'd like this [17:01] better. You know, not not your will, but [17:03] my will. [17:04] >> That is the singular thread that I see [17:08] in the struggle between man and God. And [17:12] everything in the scriptures, it's [17:14] always God. Am I going to let you have [17:16] your way or am I going to have my own [17:18] way? [17:19] >> Wow. And so whenever you feel like I'm [17:22] struggling with God, God said this, I [17:23] don't want to do it. You have entered [17:25] that struggle. [17:26] >> Exactly. [17:27] >> Will God win or will you win? [17:28] >> Or will you win? H that's you know it's [17:31] a question that a lot of young people [17:34] are still being faced uh with right now [17:37] and they feel like okay fine they they [17:40] at a point where they need to make some [17:43] certain decisions and they thinking okay [17:45] should I do it this way and God might be [17:48] asking them to do something. I remember [17:50] a time when um I remember a time where [17:54] somebody offended me. [17:56] >> Uh someone offended me and [17:58] >> those people were saying apologize. I'm [18:00] like [18:01] >> I know that one [18:02] >> and I'm like [18:03] >> he paid he paid [18:04] >> and every point I like [18:07] did you see it and was one that did they [18:10] said you apologize and I'm like God for [18:13] like two weeks. [18:14] >> Mhm. [18:15] >> Until that I went to be the person. [18:16] >> Yes. to be honest the apology was a bit [18:20] halfarted but I still did it but you [18:22] still so but it was but it just it just [18:25] shows the kind of struggle that a lot of [18:27] young people tend to face right now [18:29] especially in their work with God. But [18:32] what does a genuine encounter also will [18:36] look like for the young people who are [18:39] very passionate about having an [18:41] encounter with God. How do they know [18:45] >> that okay they have had a very genuine [18:49] encounter with God? [18:52] >> And I'm going to say something I won't [18:54] say controversial but perhaps a little a [18:58] pill tough to swallow. [19:00] >> Young people [19:02] in my generation and after my generation [19:07] >> I think we look for the spectacular. [19:10] >> We look for the profound. [19:12] We look for the outrageous, the [19:14] overwhelming. [19:15] >> Yeah. [19:16] >> We are looking for the extraordinary. [19:19] And in so doing, we are neglecting the [19:22] typical. [19:24] >> We are neglecting the everyday [19:26] instruction. So what will it look like [19:28] when young people encounter God on a [19:31] large scale? When they can say like [19:33] Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane, not [19:35] my will but yours be done. [19:38] >> That is the place of encounter. It's not [19:42] ah somebody touched me. They laid hands. [19:44] I was rolling on the floor jumping, [19:46] shouting. I saw 50 angels. Bruh. If you [19:49] look throughout scripture, yes, there [19:51] were those extraordinary encounters. [19:54] But there are those quiet people that [19:56] God has been giving instructions. The [19:58] Isaiah that looked like a failure in his [20:00] generation because the prophecies he [20:02] gave didn't seem to pass. But then Jesus [20:04] shows up in the New Testament and says, [20:07] "This is what Isaiah said and it is [20:09] fulfilled." [20:10] So a failed prophet in his generation [20:12] but who was consistent in obeying God [20:15] and later I think historians say he got [20:17] massacred for it. [20:18] >> Yeah. [20:19] >> Jesus authenticates his obedience. [20:23] >> So sometimes obedience and a life [20:26] yielded to God an encounter with God. [20:29] It's not this profound heavy huge [20:32] magnificent popular thing that everybody [20:34] will see. It's just in a life yielded [20:37] that says, "Okay, God said and I'm doing [20:41] it." Even if I don't see the [20:43] spectacular, even if I don't see the [20:46] profound, even if I don't see all these [20:49] huge things, it's obedience. You know, I [20:52] always say, you know, the scripture 1 [20:54] Corinthians 15:1-4, Paul speaking says, [20:57] you know, I present to you therefore the [20:58] gospel how that Christ was uh, you know, [21:02] crucified and he was seen by many. He [21:04] said he mentions Peter [21:06] >> was seen by Cifas and others. When you [21:09] do the research, it says that there were [21:10] probably like 400 other people that saw [21:13] Christ. [21:14] >> The Bible doesn't mention their names. [21:17] >> So, we get stuck on the I want to be [21:18] like Peter. I want to be like Paul. I [21:20] can you be like the 400. [21:22] >> H [21:23] >> can you be like the I at some point in [21:25] my life by the mercy of God I want to [21:27] write a book and that book is going to [21:29] be called God's Witness Protection. [21:33] And what it will be about is all the [21:35] quiet people in scripture. The ones that [21:37] you don't see their name. The one that [21:39] they are not profound because you know [21:41] what the popular ones most of them got [21:43] killed. [21:43] >> Most of them got massacred. Most of them [21:46] got murdered. [21:47] >> Burnt. [21:49] >> Yeah. So do you think God literally [21:51] entrusted everything to just those [21:54] people? No. Those were the [21:55] frontlininers. Those were the popular [21:57] ones that you got to see. But don't [21:59] think for one second that that was all [22:02] God was doing. It's like Elijah. He [22:04] said, "Ah, God, I'm tired. God, kill me [22:06] now. I'm the only prophet left." God [22:08] said, "I be go and sit down, [22:12] of kings." And you disgrace his name [22:14] because you are mediocre. [22:16] >> Wow. [22:16] >> So build excellence in the secret place. [22:18] keep Jesus at the center and keep [22:21] growing so that if and when God decides [22:23] he wants to put you before millions then [22:26] you have the excellence to to to present [22:30] in front of those millions um that will [22:32] testify of God's excellence. [22:35] >> Wow. Wow. That's that's very rich. [22:38] That's very rich. And of course, it's [22:40] been a wonderful time, but on a fun [22:45] >> from God during this year's youth [22:48] convention. [22:50] >> What am I expecting from God? I'm [22:51] excited. Are you kidding me, Daddy G? [22:54] The the covenant on RCCG, you cannot [22:57] come and live the same. You will come [22:59] and be changed. You will encounter God. [23:01] You will find redemption. [23:04] >> Exactly. You will find revelation, [23:07] remma, understanding, clarity. You will [23:10] have intimacy with God. You will press [23:12] in deeper in your relationship with God. [23:16] Uh you will you will take root and and [23:19] grow downwards and then you can shoot [23:22] upwards. So here this 2026 heaven young [23:26] people come ready. Holy Spirit is [23:28] waiting for you. He will catch you. All [23:30] those things have been running away. God [23:32] is he's waiting for you. He catch you. [23:34] Just come ready. Come hearts prepared [23:37] because there will be a change. There [23:38] will be a shift. There will be a [23:40] realization. There will be newness, [23:43] freshness with God. [23:45] >> Wow. All right. So, it's been a [23:46] wonderful thing. [23:47] >> Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for [23:49] making it possible for us to come. Take [23:52] all the praise and all the glory. Thank [23:54] you for giving us Jesus.
