Transcript [00:00] There's three things that quench him. [00:03] Uh when you live in the flesh, [00:07] when you live in sin, [00:09] and when you're friend of the world. [00:12] Those three things will cause the Holy [00:15] Spirit to quench, [00:17] to grieve. So, you're not going to be [00:19] able to see him working in you and [00:21] through you. The question is is he alive [00:24] in you? [00:38] All right. I did so beautiful presence [00:41] here this morning. [00:44] So, what can I say to you? And I'm going [00:45] to talk to you this morning [00:48] the time that the Holy Spirit allowed. [00:51] I'm going to talk to you about the Holy [00:53] Spirit in action. [00:56] The Holy Spirit in action. [01:00] Can't you put your hand together on [01:01] that? [01:02] Lift your hands and say the Holy Spirit [01:04] in action. [01:07] The Holy Spirit in action. So, I'm going [01:09] to go to you and and um [01:13] I want you to go to the scriptures. [01:16] In 2 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 14. [01:23] 2 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 14. [01:26] I want you to see the scriptures. [01:29] And [01:31] this is what the Holy Spirit is longing [01:33] for. [01:35] This is what the Holy Spirit wants every [01:37] day when you get up in the morning and [01:40] you're going to go pray, [01:42] this is what he's looking for. [01:45] He didn't come just to be a source of [01:47] power. [01:48] He didn't come to earth just to be um [01:52] uh someone that [01:54] uh uh, to be a force. [01:57] He came here to have fellowship with the [01:59] church, with us. [02:02] And let's read it together. 1 2 3, go. [02:07] The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ [02:10] and the love of God and communion of the [02:12] Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. Lift [02:17] your hands and say, "fellowship." [02:20] Communion. [02:22] Say it again. [02:23] Okay, this is the reason [02:26] Jesus said, "The Holy Spirit will come [02:29] and I'm going to leave because if I [02:31] don't leave, I'm not going to send you [02:34] the other comforter. [02:36] But if I do, I will send you the other [02:38] comforter." [02:40] A comforter is is is one of the names of [02:44] the Holy Spirit. And it speaks about [02:48] his function, his responsibility on the [02:50] earth. [02:52] As you know, the Father is in heaven. [02:55] Jesus is to the right hand of the [02:57] Father. [02:59] And the Holy Spirit is on the earth. [03:02] There's a man that had an experience [03:04] with heavenly experience with God. [03:08] And when he went to heaven, [03:10] the Father, he couldn't see the Father. [03:11] The Bible says, "No one have seen the [03:14] Father." [03:15] But he saw the the [03:17] the silhouette, the figure, the [03:19] you know, the the you know, the image [03:22] of the Father, not just not the Father [03:25] per se. [03:26] And as the Bible mentioned. [03:28] And then he saw Jesus [03:31] to the right side of the Father. [03:33] And then he asked, he said, "I asked a [03:35] stupid question." [03:37] And he said, "Lord, and where is the [03:39] Holy Spirit?" [03:41] And the Lord said, "The Holy Spirit is [03:42] on the earth within you." [03:45] So, he's not in heaven. He's here. [03:51] So, this morning, I will create an [03:53] appetite. [03:55] I will create a desire, a longing to [03:58] have fellowship with him. [04:01] I I want to I want to create that and [04:03] depend more of the Holy Spirit. [04:06] So, he said, "And the communion [04:10] of the Holy Spirit be with you." [04:13] The word communion [04:14] it means koinonia. It means sharing. [04:19] It means uh participation. [04:22] It means partnership. [04:24] And it means intimacy. [04:28] In other words, he said, [04:30] "The sharing, [04:32] participation, [04:34] the [04:35] partnership, [04:37] and intimacy be [04:39] with the Holy Spirit." [04:41] In other words, we are called to have [04:43] that intimacy with the Holy Spirit. If [04:45] you ask me, "Where is he at now?" He [04:46] lives inside of you. [04:49] The question is is he alive in you? [04:52] Because there's three things that grieve [04:54] him. [04:56] There's three things that quench him. [05:00] Uh when you live in the flesh, [05:03] when you live in sin, [05:05] and when you're friend of the world. [05:09] Those three things [05:11] will make the Holy Spirit will cause the [05:13] Holy Spirit to quenched, [05:15] to grieve. So, you're not going to be [05:17] able to see him working in you and [05:20] through you. So, you feel like dry. You [05:22] feel like [05:24] you know, like something is missing. [05:26] Because that fellowship was broken. [05:29] Because when people is friend of the [05:31] world, when he's walking on the flesh, [05:34] it will grieve him. [05:36] So, for example, unforgiveness [05:39] is one of the works of the flesh. [05:41] And that will grieve him. [05:44] That will grieve him. Anger, for [05:46] example, anger. [05:47] That will grieve him. [05:49] So, the mess I mentioned this to you [05:51] that [05:53] there is no Christian life without the [05:55] Holy Spirit. [05:59] Without the Holy Spirit, Christian life [06:01] becomes dry, [06:03] mechanical, and dead. [06:08] And you see people that don't believe in [06:10] the Holy Spirit, entire denominations, [06:13] and you see them they're very dry. [06:17] You don't feel the presence. It's very [06:19] uh monotonous, [06:21] uh mechanical, [06:23] um you know, you you see there's no [06:25] life. [06:27] If we remove the Holy Spirit from the [06:29] church, in other words, we say we [06:31] believe, can I hear an amen on that? [06:33] Who's the Holy Spirit? Well, the Holy [06:35] Spirit we must first to know. [06:38] If you want a close relationship with [06:41] the Holy Spirit, there's one thing you [06:44] need to understand. [06:46] And you need to know, understand, [06:48] because sometime we we heard but don't [06:51] understand. So, the Holy Spirit we must [06:54] first understand that the Holy Spirit is [06:58] a person. [07:00] It's not a force. [07:01] It's not a dove. [07:03] It's not uh [07:05] uh uh uh oil. [07:07] All those things represent his nature. [07:11] But he's not an oil. He's not a force. [07:14] He's not a wind. It's not a storm. [07:17] He is a person. [07:19] That's the reason a person wants to have [07:21] fellowship with you. [07:23] Not a force. [07:25] So, today in the church we study [07:29] the work of the Holy Spirit, but we [07:31] don't know the person of the Holy [07:32] Spirit. [07:34] How can I say to you? [07:36] We [07:38] want to know the source of power, [07:41] not the person. [07:44] So, the Holy Spirit is a is a person. [07:47] The Holy Spirit um [07:49] is not an influence, it's not a force, [07:51] it's not a fire, it's not a dove, it's [07:53] not a oil. [07:55] That's why the Holy Spirit [07:57] uh we need to understand is a person. [07:59] So, understanding this is very important [08:02] to understand. [08:03] Because [08:05] that's the first thing I understood to [08:07] have fellowship with him. [08:09] He said, "I want you to know me as a [08:12] person." [08:13] So, a person he's real. [08:16] He's presence. [08:18] He's here. He's waiting for you for for [08:21] you to speak to him. [08:23] Not in empty words, but with the heart. [08:26] So, he's real as a father is real, he [08:29] has emotion, he has will, he has a mind. [08:35] And so many people [08:36] miss the reality of he who is who he is. [08:41] Meaning that many people lose that [08:43] reality and they think it's just a [08:45] mystical presence. [08:48] Is he's real. He's here. [08:51] When you get up in the morning and pray [08:53] and you say, "Holy Spirit, are you [08:54] here?" Yes, he said. [08:57] So, he's mystical and I want you to [08:59] write this down. This is important. [09:00] Power [09:02] is not a power to be used, rather a [09:05] person to be known. [09:12] I want the power of the Holy Spirit. I [09:14] want the anointing. That is good. I want [09:16] the power, too. [09:18] But is he's not a power, just a power to [09:21] be used, [09:22] but rather a person to be known. [09:26] The Holy Spirit is not something you [09:28] use, is someone that you walk with. [09:31] Is a fellowship with him. [09:33] How do you talk to him? [09:35] You must recognize him. He is a person. [09:40] When the Holy Spirit moves, things take [09:42] place. [09:44] In other words, if we never never [09:46] allowed him to move, [09:49] nothing will happen. [09:51] That's why you see those churches so [09:52] dead and dry, [09:54] because there's never room for the Holy [09:56] Spirit. [09:57] Many believers love God. They pray, they [10:00] serve, they go to church, but many still [10:03] feel overwhelmed and spiritually [10:06] drained. And the question is, why? The [10:09] answer is not trying to do it harder, [10:12] but the answer is walking in the spirit [10:16] with the Holy Spirit. God gave us the [10:18] Holy Spirit to guide us every day, [10:21] for him to speak to us, strengthen us, [10:24] and help us uh [10:26] to live a life above and beyond the [10:28] natural ability. [12:55] We don't make room for him to move. [12:58] We don't make room for him to minister [13:00] to people. [13:01] So, we can forget. So, the Holy Spirit [13:05] cannot be grieved. [13:07] The Bible says, "Don't grieve the Holy [13:08] Spirit. Don't cause him sadness." [13:12] And I told you what causes sadness. [13:15] Don't quench him. Don't resist him. [13:18] Don't vex him. Don't strive against him. [13:22] So, give him the right place. [13:24] So, [13:26] now you understand [13:28] he's a person, he wants fellowship, he [13:30] wants communion. [13:31] He wants to have a partnership with me. [13:34] I am being a He's my partner in [13:36] ministry. [13:37] Because I am preaching, [13:39] but there's a healing, there's [13:40] deliverance, there's something he will [13:42] do [13:43] that he will do, not me. I can't heal [13:45] anybody. [13:47] So, he will do. So, we partners. [13:50] So, in that fellowship, but there's also [13:53] the part of intimacy. [13:55] That's the part of intimacy. What I What [13:58] intimacy is an exchange of thoughts, [14:01] secrets, and desires of the heart. [14:05] So, in that intimacy, you can talk to [14:06] him [14:07] as your friend, [14:09] as Lord, as God. [14:12] Can I hear an amen, people? [14:13] So, we're going to see I wanted you to [14:15] understand the basic, [14:17] to understand he's a person, he wants [14:20] fellowship, he longs for fellowship. [14:22] He's ignored. What about friend that you [14:24] going [14:25] in your car [14:26] and your friend is there all the time, [14:28] or you come to a house, [14:30] or to your house, [14:32] and and you being ignored. Nobody talk [14:34] to you. [14:36] The same thing in the church. He's [14:38] totally ignored. [14:39] We got the programs. We have replaced [14:42] uh [14:43] the agenda of men [14:45] for the leading of the Holy Spirit. [14:48] We have to allow the Holy Spirit to [14:50] move. [14:52] And when the Holy Spirit [14:54] When the Holy Spirit moves, things take [14:56] place. [14:58] In other words, if we never never allow [15:01] him to move, [15:03] nothing will happen. [15:05] That's why you see those churches so [15:06] dead and dry, [15:08] because there's never room for the Holy [15:10] Spirit. There was room for the word, [15:13] which is important, [15:15] but there's no room for him to say Holy [15:16] Spirit. In every area, the people that [15:19] lead, [15:20] the people that preach, the people that [15:22] serve [15:24] the people that in every area we need to [15:26] let the Holy Spirit talk. [15:28] When the Holy Spirit moves, things take [15:30] place. [15:31] Without [15:33] the Holy Spirit, the impossible cannot [15:34] be done if the Holy Spirit doesn't move. [15:37] So, if 90% of the church the Holy Spirit [15:40] withdraw, [15:42] they will not know it [15:44] because they work without him. [15:47] They practice the absence of the Holy [15:49] Spirit. [15:50] So, if you give too much attention, as a [15:53] church we give a lot of attention to the [15:55] machinery, resources, lights, [15:58] production, sounds, [16:00] and the natural things, [16:02] but we don't give attention to him. [16:06] And by the way, the Holy Spirit is not a [16:08] message. [16:09] Many people think it's a message. No, [16:11] he's he's a person. [16:13] We need to talk about him. [16:15] Because we talk about his miracles, we [16:17] talk about his power, [16:19] but we forget about he's a person. He [16:21] get grieved. He's he's he he grieves. [16:26] For example, when you come to church [16:28] and you're chewing gums while the Holy [16:31] Spirit presence is here, [16:33] he grieves. [16:35] He grieves. [16:37] Get sad. [16:39] When you irreverent [16:41] a moment of worship and you hands like [16:42] this and looking around and [16:45] that grieves him. [16:47] That's why he does not moving in your [16:49] life. [16:50] For prophecy never came by the will of [16:52] men, [16:53] but hold but holy men of God [16:58] spoke as they were moved [17:01] by the Holy Spirit. [17:02] The word moved [17:05] is the word inspired. [17:10] This men of God were inspired [17:14] by the Holy Spirit. [17:16] And the word [17:18] that words means to carry out [17:23] or carry away [17:25] moved [17:27] influenced [17:29] control [17:30] impulse [17:32] elevated [17:35] Those men of God will will were [17:39] carried [17:40] move [17:42] impulse [17:43] uh influenced by the Holy Spirit. [17:46] Inspired by the Holy Spirit. [17:49] And what I'm saying to you this, I want [17:51] you to go to [17:53] Romans chapter 8 verse 14. [17:56] Those men of God [17:58] every man of God is inspired [18:01] is moved, is led, is influenced by the [18:04] Holy Spirit. [18:07] Can we do ministry without Holy Spirit? [18:09] No. [18:10] Because everything we do in ministry is [18:12] impossible. [18:13] I can't heal the sick. I can't cast out [18:15] demons in my own human ability. So, I [18:18] need the Holy Spirit. [18:20] So, as many as led by the Holy Spirit [18:23] those men of God were led by the Spirit. [18:27] These are the sons of God. Luke chapter [18:30] 4 verse 1. [18:31] Those men were carried out by the Holy [18:34] Spirit. They were carried out, they were [18:36] influenced, controlled. [18:39] And being filled with the Holy Spirit [18:41] returned to um [18:42] and Jesus being filled with the Holy [18:44] Spirit. [18:45] And he was led by the Spirit into the [18:47] wilderness. [18:50] So, what's the point? [18:52] Look at me, please. [18:54] I want you [18:55] I want to create that desire in you [18:58] not to ignore, I mean to have fellowship [19:01] with the Holy Spirit and not to ignore [19:03] him anymore. [19:07] Can you put your hands together, people? [19:11] We have so many services. We will we [19:14] serve God without the Holy Spirit. [19:17] People that serve God without the power [19:19] of the Holy Spirit, those people are [19:21] dry. They're dead. Why? Because they are [19:25] doing ministry without the Holy Spirit. [19:29] And that's why you How do you know? When [19:31] you preach, nothing happen. [19:35] Because the Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit [19:38] will move with his power where the [19:41] gospel is preached. [19:44] If you never share Jesus with people, [19:47] the Holy Spirit will not move. [19:49] He moves when we preach the gospel. He [19:53] moves when we share Jesus with people in [19:57] your personal basis and you share the [19:59] gospel with people. So, this is what [20:01] happened. So, the Holy Spirit is in [20:03] operation. [20:05] Where there's no sharing of the gospel, [20:08] no evangelism, the Holy Spirit doesn't [20:10] move. [20:13] So, his promise of divine power is for [20:16] people that have passion for souls. [20:21] Where the gospel where I've seen the [20:23] spirit move greater the greatest move of [20:26] the spirit that I've seen is when I [20:28] preach the gospel to the unbelievers. [20:32] The greatest miracles that I've seen the [20:34] move of the spirit is when I preach the [20:36] gospel. So, every time you pray you you [20:39] share the gospel. You testified about [20:42] Jesus in the school in in every area, [20:44] you will see the Holy Spirit move. [20:47] In other words, what ignites the power [20:50] and the move of the Holy Spirit is the [20:52] preaching of the gospel. [20:54] But today in many churches do we don't [20:56] even do call for the lost. [20:59] So, there's no moving of the spirit [21:00] because he will move when we share [21:02] Jesus. When we talk about Jesus. When we [21:05] exalt Jesus. [21:07] There's a difference between believing [21:09] in the Holy Spirit and walking with the [21:11] Holy Spirit. Many people just have a [21:13] mental knowledge, but they never heard [21:16] his voice. They didn't want to walk with [21:18] him. My friend, the Holy Spirit is not [21:20] just a distant person. He's a person who [21:23] desire close communion and relationship [21:27] with you. [23:26] >> I got accepted at a school in Georgia. I [23:30] left. I tried weed for the first time [23:32] there. My roommates and I, we got caught [23:35] smoking on campus. I went to jail. The [23:38] next day I took a cab home. I got a [23:40] simple job serving ice cream and I hated [23:44] myself the entire four years. I tried [23:47] every drug that I could get my hands on. [23:48] I did acid, I did shrooms, I fornicated. [23:52] After that, I I started to feel [23:55] uncomfortable where I was comfortable. [23:58] And then eventually one day in my car, I [24:00] was like, "Let me try Jesus." And as [24:03] weeks started going by, I started to get [24:05] like the feelings and it was the Holy [24:07] Spirit that I was unaware about the time [24:10] and I was obedient to this thing that [24:13] went against everything that my flesh [24:15] wanted to do. I felt led to do a 7-day [24:18] fast. It was really really hard, but I [24:21] was seeking God. Like I started [24:24] worshiping in my car going home and the [24:26] presence of God just felt so heavy on me [24:29] in the car. Like I'm crying and it was [24:32] so good. I'm like, "This is what I was [24:34] missing in my life." And I gave my life [24:38] to Christ that day and it's been freeing [24:43] ever since. Slowly but surely, I started [24:45] feeling joy again. Like just randomly, [24:48] just happy. I'm like, "This feels good." [24:50] I was able to fix my relationship with [24:52] my parents and I just feel free. [25:00] >> My friend, God never intended for you to [25:04] live in your own strength. [25:07] Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit to guide [25:09] us. That's why he said, "I will leave [25:11] you another comforter." [25:13] For that comforter to strengthen you and [25:16] lead you into your God-given purpose. [25:19] So, why continue carrying [25:22] life's burdens alone? [25:24] When you can walk in this Holy Spirit [25:26] every day, you can do that every day as [25:28] believer. [25:30] It all begins with a relationship with [25:33] Jesus Christ. Your first step into a [25:35] true peace and freedom is receiving him, [25:39] Jesus, as your Lord and Savior. My [25:42] friend, if you're watching now [25:44] and if you feel lonely, sad, have you [25:47] thought in spiritual things? [25:50] Have you considered what is the greatest [25:52] need of humanity today? [25:55] Well, the greatest need of humanity [25:57] today is the need of salvation of his [26:00] soul or her soul. There's two places [26:02] where men dies, where men goes when he [26:05] dies, heaven or hell. There's nothing in [26:07] between. There's a heaven, there's a [26:09] hell. Jesus spoke more about hell than [26:11] heaven. Hell is a place of torment. [26:15] Heaven is a place of peace. So, my [26:17] friend, if you're there, if you want to [26:18] give your life to the Lord Jesus, repeat [26:21] after me. Say, "Pastor, I need Jesus as [26:24] my Lord and my Savior. I want to change. [26:27] I'm tired of being um you know, sick and [26:30] tormented in my mind, lonely, sad." [26:33] Repeat this prayer with me. Whatever [26:35] place you are, in your hotel room, in [26:38] your home. I mean, I don't know where [26:40] you are now. Repeat after me. Say, [26:42] "Father God." Repeat. "Father God, I [26:46] recognize that I am a sinner. I repent [26:50] of all my sins. I confess with my mouth [26:55] that Jesus Christ is my Lord and my [26:58] savior. And I believe repeated I believe [27:02] with all my heart that God the Father [27:05] raised Jesus from the dead. [27:08] Amen and amen. [27:10] If you watching today and and you were [27:12] we were talking about the Holy Spirit [27:14] how to walk with the Holy Spirit. You [27:15] know everything starts with being [27:18] baptized. Being filled with the Holy [27:21] Ghost. So if you watching right now and [27:24] then you say um I want to be filled with [27:26] the Holy Spirit. [27:27] I want to be empowered with the Holy [27:29] Spirit. Father in the name of Jesus, I [27:31] ask you today that you those people [27:34] watching be filled with the Holy Ghost. [27:37] And the evidence of that in feeling is [27:39] speaking another tongues. That's what [27:41] Jesus said. You will speak in other [27:43] tongues. These are the signs of of the [27:45] believer. Father, [27:47] fill them with the Holy Ghost. Eat out [27:49] those in [27:51] and out. [27:52] Be filled with the Holy Ghost. Be filled [27:55] with the Holy Ghost. And start walking [27:57] with him in communion and relationship [28:00] with him. Be filled with the Holy Ghost. [28:02] Amen and amen. Be blessed.
