As we celebrate Rosh Hashanah here in Israel, remember the sound of the shofar. Psalm 150 calls us to praise the Lord with the trumpet - and in Hebrew, that word is the shofar, the ram's horn blown since the days of the Torah.
But the shofar is not decoration, and it's not just an instrument. It's a wake-up call to the soul.
This is a season to examine your heart, to reflect, and to turn back to God - a time of preparing our hearts for Yom Kippur. So ask yourself: How is your relationship with God? Are you doing justice? Are you walking humbly? Are you receiving the steadfast love of God, and walking in the way He wants for you?
Wherever you are, if you hear the shofar this season, let it be exactly that - a wake-up call to return and walk in the ways of God.
God bless you.
If this spoke to you, share it with someone who needs to hear it today. š
