I want to look [00:04] back before we look forward a little bit [00:06] in your campaign against Thomas Massie, [00:08] which was one of those ones that was [00:09] watched intensely by pro-Israel uh [00:12] supporters. [00:15] >> What did it take to defeat him that [00:17] other candidates in similar situations [00:19] can use going forward? [00:21] >> Well, it was all hands on deck. So what [00:23] you saw was not only the conservatives [00:26] in my 21 counties but across the nation [00:29] stood the line to stop him who continue [00:33] to basically give aid and comfort to the [00:36] other party and our adversaries frankly [00:38] overseas. Make no mistake about it. Some [00:40] of his biggest fans are Iran, China, [00:44] Russia and North Korea cuz he divided [00:46] the Republicans and the conservatives [00:48] and he continued to basically give aid [00:50] and comfort to the other party with [00:52] deeply flawed, you know, logic for why [00:54] he was supporting them against us. So [00:58] all that to say, it was an all hands-on [00:59] deck moment. What was different was I [01:01] talked directly to the Kentucky people. [01:03] I talked directly to them. No media [01:05] between me and them, right? [01:07] >> And I delivered the message. I'm one of [01:09] them. He is not one of us. [01:12] >> When you say one of them, is it certain [01:14] shared values? There's a certain certain [01:16] shared philos [01:24] that shining city on the hill as [01:26] President Reagan said famously in his [01:29] quote not what he sees as he joins ranks [01:32] again with the Democrats who have who've [01:35] demonstrated democracy is a tight [01:37] fitting jacket they cannot wear. They've [01:39] laid their cards on the table. It isn't [01:40] about a political policy or some nuance [01:43] position. It is all about changing the [01:46] entire process and that was part of the [01:48] reason they did the open borders because [01:50] they're wanting that 2030 census so the [01:53] illegal immigrants accounted to [01:54] redistribute congressional seats so they [01:57] can dominate Congress and it [01:58] redistributes [02:00] resources as well. So all that to say it [02:03] was a hold the line moment and the [02:05] conservatives did that. Now I've got a [02:06] win on three November and I thank for [02:08] the continued support. I won the battle [02:10] but the war continues. [02:11] >> Yeah, that's what I was going to ask you [02:12] because you're halfway there now. What [02:13] does a general election campaign look [02:15] like? Well, here's what occurred. He [02:17] didn't go away. So for the folks in [02:19] Kentucky, what they've witnessed is [02:21] where the president run that won in the [02:23] general election previously by nearly [02:25] 70% that I am their candidate to again [02:28] reflect their values going to Washington [02:30] DC. So I have a Democrat opponent. I [02:33] have another opponent that that he is [02:34] backing and then there's a right and [02:36] opponent. But I'm talking directly to [02:38] the people and when I'm out there in [02:39] those communities, those neighborhoods [02:40] and talking to those folks, I mean, they [02:42] understand that it is literally a choice [02:45] at this juncture between the [02:47] Constitution and the Communist [02:49] Manifesto. It's as simple as that. They [02:52] are they're not hiding their agenda [02:53] whatsoever in the other party. in terms [02:56] of your particular views on Israel in [02:59] terms of the USIsrael relationship. I [03:01] mean because you Massie is so extreme, [03:04] it doesn't take someone on the other [03:05] extreme to defeat him. Kind of where do [03:07] you fall on on that particular line? [03:09] >> First of all, can I tell you the lens [03:10] that I see that relationship and I want [03:12] people to hear this and the folks in [03:13] Kentucky appreciate this. I see the I [03:16] see the relationship [03:18] through the lens of a career Navy Seal [03:20] officer. That's tactical, operational, [03:23] strategic. through the lens of an honor [03:25] graduate from the war college. I was [03:27] sent by leadership. I didn't ask to go [03:28] to war college. You're selected and [03:30] you're sent and there was Israeli [03:31] officers in my class. I see the lens [03:34] through a graduate of the Naval [03:35] Postgraduate School with a master's [03:37] degree with an honors thesis award in [03:40] intelligence. And that's not just [03:42] military intelligence. So my lens is [03:44] shaped by that and it's shaped by [03:45] history because as a senior military [03:47] officer, we're students of history. So [03:50] all that to say, Israel is our key [03:53] strategic partner at this point in time. [03:55] And if we do not act decisively to hold [03:57] the line against the four horsemen of [03:59] the apocalypse, that is Iran, Russia, [04:02] China, North Korea, history will punish [04:04] us. This is almost like preworld war II [04:08] where then it was imperial Japan, it was [04:11] fascist Italy, it was Nazi Germany and [04:14] it was communist Soviet Union. So the [04:17] actors have slightly changed, but the [04:18] broad contours of the threats are the [04:20] same. So those strategic alliances where [04:23] we hold the line against those [04:24] adversaries are more than vital. They're [04:27] critical. And if we do not, history will [04:29] punish us. So we got to win the battle [04:31] of the ballot box. In the end, it's [04:34] about moral clarity as well. Well, what [04:36] we see with some of these folks in the [04:38] in terms of the Democrat socialist [04:40] coming out, the only thing missing is [04:41] her brown shirts. about like [04:44] >> the only thing missing is her brown [04:45] shirts.
