🇬🇧 UK sanctions on Israel: protecting a two-state solution, or domestic politics? Our Investigations and Political Correspondent, Jane Prinsley, explains: The UK has sanctioned the West Bank, banning goods and some services, and accepted the ICJ opinion that Israel’s occupation is unlawful. The move follows Israel’s expansion of settlements in the E1 area and has been followed by similar action from Canada and France. But the sanctions have sparked criticism from some British Jewish communal leaders, who warn of double standards, interference in Israeli politics and risks to the Jewish community. Others, in Progressive and Masorti Judaism say sanctions are imperfect but settlement expansion must be condemned.
