Transcript [00:00] Well, joining us now is Ishi Fleer. He's [00:02] the international spokesperson for the [00:03] Jewish community of Hebrron and he's now [00:06] also in politics running in the 12th [00:07] place on Benv's Mayu slate. And Isha, [00:12] thank you so much for joining us. First [00:13] of all, just off the bat, I want to get [00:15] your reaction to the British move, the [00:18] measures that they have introduced uh [00:20] targeting uh uh trade with uh Israeli [00:24] settlements in Judea and Samaria. [00:26] a very sad day uh to see that the UK [00:30] which uh about 100 years ago helped [00:33] Israel be born uh through the Balfford [00:36] Declaration is now trying to reverse all [00:38] that and trying to undermine Jewish [00:40] rights in the heartland of Israel. And I [00:43] also fought uh I fought of course the [00:46] progressivism and the jihadism that has [00:48] taken over that country. And I fault our [00:50] own uh husb and our own media and our [00:54] own explanation uh of what Judian [00:56] Samaria is, how important it is to our [00:58] story, how central it is to our [01:00] security, how how uh foundational it is [01:04] to the Jewish story. Uh we haven't done [01:06] a great job of explaining that. That's [01:07] how why this has uh come about. And and [01:09] the jihad on the other hand has done a [01:11] great job of undermining our story of of [01:13] telling people that we're occupiers and [01:15] settlers and white colonialists. all the [01:18] language that they use, these are all [01:19] lies. Uh we are the indigenous peoples [01:21] of this land. We have come home after [01:23] being kicked out. Uh there's there's no [01:25] more beautiful movement than the [01:27] decolonialization [01:29] colonialization decolonialization of uh [01:31] of this land by the Jewish people [01:34] returning, the indigenous people [01:35] returning to its land. And the heart of [01:36] our land is is Judea and Samaria. So [01:38] it's a sad day today. Uh we have to turn [01:40] it around around the world. We have to [01:42] explain our story better. Uh we have to [01:43] fight against the uh the narrative [01:45] that's being weaved. Uh we have to talk [01:47] about how important how part of our [01:49] identity it is and and how we are a [01:51] force of normalization and the truth [01:55] that this force that is u bismerching [01:58] our name and bismerching our historical [02:00] right to this land is really a force of [02:02] jihadism uh [02:06] fused together with progressivism the [02:08] so-called red green alliance and that [02:10] red green alliance is what's really [02:11] behind us. Well, let me ask you, you're [02:14] not yet in the Knesset, but you are part [02:15] of a party that is currently in the [02:18] government coalition. Are you satisfied [02:20] with how the government has responded [02:22] specifically to these moves with its [02:24] measures against the UK? And then in a [02:27] broader way, are you what would what are [02:29] you proposing the the government should [02:31] be doing moving ahead? [02:33] Um I am pleased that uh the foreign [02:38] minister and the prime minister uh also [02:40] listened to my party leader Benvir and [02:44] are are closing down uh the consulate uh [02:47] the embassy, excuse me, uh in in in [02:49] eastern Jerusalem. That's the right move [02:51] to do. But it's but it's a sad move, [02:53] right? It's it's a move like where we [02:54] have to cut them out because they're [02:55] cutting us out. So it's not exactly [02:57] where we want to be in this world. But [02:58] if somebody hurts Israel, they have to [03:00] know that that we're going to take [03:01] serious measures and and that no more [03:04] Mr. Nice Guy. We're not going to allow [03:06] ourselves to be bullied around on the [03:07] world stage. And so we're going to take [03:09] very very serious measures against their [03:12] serious measures. We're not going to [03:13] stand for it anymore. On the one hand, [03:15] I'm I'm happy about that. On the other [03:17] hand, you know, this is the sad state of [03:19] affairs that we have to cut out diplomat [03:21] cut off diplomatic relations with with [03:23] with the UK. Uh that's, you know, that [03:26] that's a fail. That means that we have [03:29] uh somehow allowed a narrative to take [03:32] root that this land is not ours but [03:34] instead it's something called Palestine [03:36] and that we are some kind of you know [03:38] endlessly violent group of people the [03:40] settler violence narrative and and you [03:42] know you even go to AI you ask AI how [03:45] many and you AI is drawing from sources [03:48] that are not pro-Israel like UN type of [03:51] sources and they say how many people [03:52] were killed in 2020 2020 20 in 2025 uh [03:55] how many Arabs were killed by settler [03:57] violence. It says nine and you and you [04:00] compare it with uh Cleveland or or New [04:03] Orleans and it's like, you know, they [04:05] have hundreds and hundreds of people [04:06] killed and gang violence and all kinds [04:08] of people and all kinds of things like [04:09] that. Mexico uh has has the world's [04:12] murder capitals and yet the whole world [04:14] is fixated on this thing. So we've we've [04:16] must have done something not quite right [04:18] in explaining ourselves in our husb part [04:20] of that is of course the creation of the [04:22] Palestinian Authority which is our [04:24] country's fault. We got to walk back [04:26] this policy of the two-state solution [04:29] and the creation of the Palestinian [04:30] Authority. If you create a Palestinian [04:31] Authority, well guess what? Somebody [04:33] else is going to believe that it's it [04:34] belongs to Palestine, right? So we [04:36] created this monster and now we got to [04:38] get rid of it. We got to kill it. We got [04:41] to bury the two state and bury the the [04:44] >> let's let's let's let's let's start spec [04:45] let's let's deal specifically though [04:47] with these these um measures that have [04:49] been taken on a practical level do they [04:51] have any impact on on on the settlements [04:54] uh UK does trade with Israel certainly [04:57] and as are some of the other European [04:59] countries but how much does that is [05:00] actually impact on the settlements and [05:02] the businesses there themselves [05:05] I think that the impact uh financially [05:08] is is nominal it's minimal It's not it's [05:11] not a serious impact. I don't think it's [05:14] designed to have an economic impact. [05:16] It's designed to have a legitimacy [05:18] impact. It's it's there to delegitimize [05:21] uh the Jewish people's life and rights [05:23] in Judea and Samaria. That's what it's [05:25] designed to do. Uh will it have an [05:27] economic impact? It could. Uh but you [05:30] know, like the wines, the wines of Judea [05:32] and Samaria, some of the best wines in [05:34] the world, uh that may be uh it might be [05:37] hard to purchase that uh in London. Uh [05:40] so it may it may impact us, but that's [05:42] not what it's designed to do. It's [05:43] designed to delegitimize. And when you [05:45] delegitimize [05:46] uh Judea and Samaria, you're basically [05:48] delegitimizing uh the government of [05:50] Israel. You're basically delegitimizing [05:52] Israel. And that's really what they're [05:54] about, right? This is just a step to [05:56] delegitimize the Jewish state uh as an [05:59] entity, right? It's it's not it's just [06:01] about taking it apart peace meal. But [06:04] that's what they're really saying. [06:05] They're saying you guys and your [06:06] policies are illegitimate. So that's [06:07] what they're trying to do. doing what we [06:09] have to do is we have to stand strong. [06:11] Uh I think that we should you know be [06:12] announcing more building and I think I [06:14] saw today uh a thousand new uh [06:17] apartments were were announced today in [06:18] Judea and Samaria uh rights to build [06:20] apartments and so that's what we have to [06:22] do and then we have to get get out there [06:24] and and work and teach what this thing [06:25] is all about. I don't know if you know [06:27] but I was the am the spearhead uh of a [06:30] project called uh Route 60 the biblical [06:33] highway. Route 60 runs along the [06:35] ridgeback road that goes through Judea [06:37] and Samaria. And my idea was that uh [06:40] this should be renamed the biblical [06:42] highway and to really teach the story of [06:43] these places and how historic they are [06:45] to us. That's just one step in [06:48] recreating our narrative, rebuilding our [06:50] narrative about the historical [06:52] connection of the Jewish people to this [06:53] land and it's important to us. [06:54] >> So, let me ask you about the US [06:56] response. Uh Senator Rubio said of [06:58] course the US would not be joining uh uh [07:01] I think that's a given this uh the this [07:04] these measures but uh there was a his [07:07] criticism or I don't even know if he was [07:09] that of the of the UK's move was was was [07:12] kind of muted. President Trump has not [07:14] spoken uh out on it. Of course, I think [07:17] it has been pointed out and I think [07:18] Secretary Rubio that some of these moves [07:20] could violate laws, state laws in the US [07:23] that forbid doing business with uh BD [07:26] entities uh uh that follow the BDS law. [07:29] But kind of a low-key US reaction. What [07:32] do you make of it? What's your response [07:33] to it? Uh yeah, I'd like to see the [07:37] United States be much more viferous. Uh [07:40] and and Trump won certainly would have [07:42] been much more viferous. I didn't get [07:44] enough uh I didn't feel enough of that [07:47] uh a wave of of condemnation. I think [07:51] that the UK should be condemned. Uh and [07:54] the condemnation is not just about their [07:57] boycotting of Israel. And this is a this [08:00] is a bigger issue that I see. [08:03] What's happening right now is that [08:04] there's a civilizational onslaught [08:06] against the West, against the UK, [08:09] against Belgium, against France, against [08:11] Australia, against Canada, against the [08:12] US. there's a there's a jihadist wave, [08:15] right? And we Israel, we're on the [08:17] forefront of pushing that back. And [08:18] we're on a certain alliance, right, with [08:20] the UK, with with with the United [08:23] States, with the UAE, with Arab [08:24] countries that are anti- jihad, right? [08:26] And here comes this this move which is [08:29] so blatantly in the lane of what the [08:32] jihad wants. And instead of being like, [08:35] "Hey, you guys are hurting our ally and [08:38] they're your ally. They're protecting [08:40] you, UK. Israel's in the forefront of [08:42] that. We should be allied against this [08:45] thing. Quite the opposite is happening. [08:47] You see a a a voseiferous and disgusting [08:50] uh UK sanctions on Israel. And then you [08:52] see a muted response from the United [08:54] States. And so, you know, Israel is uh [08:57] is more alone. Uh and that's too bad [09:00] because because I in all those [09:01] countries, there are people who [09:02] understand what we're what we're doing, [09:04] what this thing is all about. They [09:05] understand where where the justice lies. [09:07] They understand that we're fighting [09:08] defensive wars against huge amount of [09:11] countries. If it's Iran and Yemen and [09:14] Turkey and Qatar, all these actors that [09:17] that are trying to, you know, uh uh [09:19] really shrink us and we're pushing back [09:21] on all that, but we're also protecting [09:23] the West. But sadly, the West is not [09:25] seeing it today. It's really much more [09:28] uh of a of a report card or a [09:31] temperature gauge of how the West is [09:34] doing. And the fact that the west is not [09:35] standing up to these sanctions and [09:36] they're succumbing to this jihadist [09:38] ideology is is in in the end going to be [09:41] injurious to them in my opinion. All [09:43] right, Ishi Fleer now a candidate for [09:46] the canessad with the OTM Jewish [09:48] strength party I would say. Uh Ishi, [09:51] thanks for joining us on TV.
