The Holocaust is why my family is so small. And why I refuse to be silent.
Visiting Budapest’s Holocaust Memorial Center is deeply personal and touches the trauma. As the grandchild of Holocaust survivors and heroes, I carry their legacy and that of the family brutally stolen from them.
More than six million Jews were murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators—two-thirds of European Jewry and almost 40% of Jews worldwide. More than one million were children.
My family was among them. The relatives I never met. The generations never born. The lives and futures stolen.
And yet, here I am. A proud Jew. A proud Israeli-American. Living a life so many in my family were denied.
This is why I fight antisemitism, extremism, terrorism, and the dehumanization of Jews. Why I stand for Jewish civil rights, Israel, and our future.
Our Jewish story isn’t only about victimhood. It’s about heroism, courage, resilience, and life.
I cannot bring back the family stolen from my grandparents. But I can honor their memory, speak for those silenced, and fight for generations to come.
