Captain Picard. Professor X. A Shakespearean giant whose voice carried generations of fans across the stars and back to the stage. Sir Patrick Stewart has passed away at 86. What many fans may not know: in 2012, he came to Israel to star in "Hunting Elephants," an Israeli comedy shot in Jerusalem, alongside Israeli screen legends Sasson Gabai and Moni Moshonov. He had first visited a year earlier and said he told his family and friends he wanted to come back - this time not as a tourist, but as part of an Israeli film. As he wrapped up his stay, he wrote: "I will miss Israel - the place, the people, the food." The film went on to open the 2013 Jerusalem Film Festival, where the director had the crowd send him a message: "We love you, Patrick!" He also supported the American Jewish World Service. Thank you, Sir Patrick, for the stories, the dignity, and the warmth you shared with Israel and the world. The people of Israel will miss you too. May his memory forever be a blessing. 🕯️

A new report by the Council of Europe’s anti-racism body finds antisemitism in the Czech Republic has surged by over 400% since 2020. Recorded incidents jumped from 874 in 2020 to 4,694 in 2024, most of them online hate speech that holds local Jews responsible for Israel’s actions. Targeted attacks on people, property and institutions rose from 24 in 2022 to 118 in 2024, including a failed attempt to set fire to the synagogue in Brno in January 2024. This is what happens when hatred is left to grow online and in the streets. It never stays on a screen, and it threatens every community that tolerates it.

Hamas captivity survivors Aviva and Keith Siegel, who were kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Aza on October 7, 2023, have welcomed a new grandchild: their daughter Shir has given birth to a baby girl. StandWithUs Saidoff Lawyers Help Bring About Suspension of APA Commission's Recognition for Failure to Monitor Antisemitism Attorneys from StandWithUs Saidoff Law provided crucial public comment before a federal committee looking into the failure of the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Commission on Accreditation to monitor antisemitism within its accredited programs. Yael Lerman, Carly Gammill, Gadi Dotz, Jaclyn Clark and Michael Scheinman testified that Jewish students in an APA-accredited clinical psychology doctoral program at George Washington University raised concerns about antisemitism within the program and were then placed on remediation under APA standards, while the APA Commission, despite visiting and reviewing the program, failed to discover these serious issues. Following this testimony, the committee noted the crucial help StandWithUs' comments provided and voted to recommend that the Department of Education suspend the Commission’s federal recognition for 12 months. StandWithUs thanks the therapists, clinicians and partner groups who stepped forward to voice their concerns about the APA. Recording is forthcoming.

Israel's Ambassador to the U.S., Yechiel Leiter, rushed home from the UN General Assembly after learning his son Neria, an IDF reservist, was critically wounded in a terror attack. Speaking outside Shaare Zedek Medical Center, where Neria remains in serious condition, Ambassador Leiter thanked the medical team fighting to save his son's life and asked the world to join him in prayer. He named the real culprits: the Iranian regime, Hamas, and Hezbollah, the axis of terror working to destroy Israel. This is the second time terror has struck this family.
