Just this month, Israeli authorities announced the arrest of a suspected 10-member Hamas cell accused of planning an attack. Macron should study the facts before he speaks misinformation.

A gunman opened fire outside a Canadian synagogue as Jews gathered for Yom Kippur. The attacker allegedly fired at a police officer stationed outside Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville, seriously wounding him before being shot himself. Around two dozen Jewish worshippers were inside. None were injured. Jews should never need armed protection just to pray.

Shurat HaDin President Nitsana Darshan-Leitner on 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆'𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗘𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, close to the community of Neve Tzuf in the West Bank, where a man around 40 was shot and murdered in his car, hours before the start of Yom Kippur: "The terrorist attack at the spring in Neve Tzuf—on the eve of the Great and Awesome Day—shakes me to my core. I live right next to it. All the area residents visit this spring, every day and at all hours. My daughter and son-in-law go there regularly. My soldier son visits every time he gets a 24-hour pass from the army. The place is breathtakingly beautiful, the spring is soul-restoring, and the water is crystal clear. And then comes a death-seeking terrorist and spills our children's blood. This spring must become an integral part of Neve Tzuf. If leaving this territory unheld means Jews cannot enjoy it safely, then there is no choice but to incorporate it within the community’s boundaries, formalize a presence there, and secure the safety of visitors. A place full of life must not become a lawless no-man's-land exploited by terrorists to murder Jews. And when I am asked again in international media interviews whether building in Judea and Samaria is legal, I will not dwell on the history of these territories, their proximity to the heart of the country, or whether international law applies to them. I will give them a simple answer: If we do not build, we abandon the land; and if we abandon the land, we will be murdered. On this Yom Kippur, as we pray to be inscribed and sealed for life, I pray for our children, for our soldiers, and for all the families of Israel. On this holy day, our fate will be sealed—and the fate of our enemies will be sealed as well. May the memory of the victim be blessed."
